Is this game only online?
Can you play against AI or is it PVP only? asking because my internet adapter is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ itself so I don't want to be constantly dropping out of matches.

It have basic training mode with AI (sort of stupid one), but the best way to learn the game in the beginning is just playing "Classic" mode, which is general ranked mode which matches you with opponents of similar level. Just don't click "Seasonal" mode, it has monthly specal rules, whacky ones, which will not teach you the general gameplay.

Dropping from matches from time to time won't be that bad, cause your opponent will get rewards from win anyway, you should also get XP and crown rewards from tthat match.

Gwent is mainly an online PVP with a practice AI to test new decks against.
For an offline, singleplayer experience of a Gwent-like game, I recommend Thronebreaker

I was so happy to discover this game and then so disappointed when I found out it's PVP only...

This game isn't only PVP, the game has many modes vs the AI. what are you guys talking about it. Been playing this game for hours and hours off steam for months.

I only saw the training (AI - no rewards), Classic (pvp) and arena (pvp) mode. What is there vs AI that I could have missed?

No, the AI is to practice new decks against, nothing more. I suggest you check out Thronebreaker for the kind of game you're looking for.

GOG version there's a story mode, training mode and other mode against the AI. Now i haven't played the game in about 2 months or so, but i would think its still there. If they removed all of that content, well that sucks.

I find it amusing the CDPR always championed DRM-free and all that ♥♥♥♥ but then made a GAAS game where if you don't have internet, the game is literally useless, there's no good bots to learn the game, no good story mode, only online matchmaking with microtranscations. What the ♥♥♥♥ happened to CDPR, is CyberPunk even DRM-free?

There is no story mode in Gwent. There is Thronebreaker which is a separate, single-player, RPG/adventure/storydriven-like game.

There is a seasonal mode which is online mode. There is an arena mode which is still online mode.

Training mode is (and was) the only single-player mode in Gwent. Nothing was removed.

if ur thinking dueling with real people is ur problem..u need not to worry ...newbie games and low ranks plays like an ai or lower that ai. getting to higher ranks battle is far far away ...try the game and see for ur self. u can win consistently with starter decks and rewards will be pouring in then u can get better cards. play classic.
if online is ur problem then get a different game like what was said

Bro, there's a campaign mode and 2 other modes for solo, if they removed them, that's new to me. I haven't played in a few months. Going to check to see what was removed in a few mins.
