Does Gwent become pay to win with new expansion release?

I've just watched the new Gwent trailer, the only thing I hear is that you can purchase the new cards. No kegs??? So this has now officially become a pay to win game? If that's the case then it's bye bye for me cdpr. I've spend a little more than a year to get all the cards by playing games and I'm still short and now I can't even craft the new cards? Please tell me I'm wrong.

The last 12 cards were the same. They already said for part of this year they are releasing only 12 cards at a time, and those will get shuffled into the faction+full kegs.

The coming set is the 2nd of the supposed three sets of 12 cards.

Its not more pay to win than it was before since you can still make cards from scraps - and you get scraps from extra cards - and the game buries you in ore to open kegs with over time.

The game is full of problems right now, but "pay to win" is not one of them.

Its a whopping 12 cards. You would need 2 of them at most to play. Thats 1600 scraps. If you cant find 1600 scraps between the keys, kegs, and cards you dont need you have problems.

The fact that this game makes EVERY card available for free via its non-stop accumulate-and-craft system is already generous.

--> And Im not defending the game itself right now. I am pretty tired of the design problems myself, but yelling about "pay to win" is total garbage.

This is not entirely correct. You're right in that they will be releasing the expansion kegs in November (after all three sets of cards have been released) that contain only the cards from this new expansion.

Before that, though, the new cards will still be added to the ultimate, faction and neutral kegs. So when the first set of cards drops next month you can potentially pull them from the ultimate, faction or neutral kegs. But the odds of getting them will obviously be on the lower side so it would probably be better to craft with scraps.
