Journey Premium gets you Ciri (can be played with any faction).
Nilfgaard has Anna Henrietta (one of the best looking female skins).
Northern Realms has both Queen Calanthe and Queen Meve.
Monsters has Gernichora (trust me, it's female).
Scoai;tael has Dana (another good skin).
Syndicate has Gundrun Bjornsdottir (kinda punky).
All except Gudrun have to be unlocked by spending keys. Meve and Gernichora are quite expensive to unlock.
On a positive note there's a new expansion coming so hopefully it will have at least one female cosmetic skin.and the next Journey will most definitely be Yennifer as the Premium cosmetic skin.
SK is definitely lacking female skins, but you are not correct about the other factions.
ps: I have Ciri, the rest doesn't matter
*I'm joking, team Yennefer here
They already did Geralt, and right now Ciri. The next one could be Yennifer in some logic indeed.
I do agree there could be more accessible female skins, but like Darth Joules covered there are actually a number of skins you might have overlooked. It just takes time to unlock them I guess.
I also agree with you that the type of character you play as does indeed matter, and for a number of reasons - roleplay, immersion, variety, and if you identify as female then your enjoyment of the game is likely to be higher if you get to play as your own gender!
though i still hope it's just bait
Complete and utter horse ploppies!!
I think you're imagining their imaginary "oppression". The OP was making a fair comment on the lack of female avatars because there are 28 male leaders, but only 9 female leaders (excluding Ciri and Geralt because they're premium and any shop bought leaders). Not to also mention some of the female leaders look bad like Adda.
I do however agree that including Yennefer, Triss and maybe some other sorceresses of the Lodge like Fringilla as NR/NG would probably be an ok decision. Also Cerys for SK. Other than that I don't even know. Maybe a Kitsune in female form for MO.
Care to explain why you counted creatures such as Woodland Spirit, Svalblod and especially Arachas QUEEN as "male characters"? :D
It'll be Yennifer because she's part of the main triumvirate of characters. Geralt, Ciri, and Yen. Likely Yen will be paired with another character from the Lodge of Sorceress as the non Premium character.
Oops, I did miss out the Araches Queen as a female. The Woodland Spirit is however ambiguous. Swalblod is actually the embodiment of both man and bear so definitely very alpha male.
Thank you so much for taking some time out of your day to list the female characters for me that I've clearly missed! :)
I've only been playin for a couple of days and tried to look through all the rewards systems today to find more female characters and didn't find any (except Scoia'tael) (I find the menu quite confusing).
I'll look them up, thank you! :)
Thank you for putting it into words better than I did in my rage! :D
Personally, I wouldn't mind if they added characters just for Gwent, but I understand that others might disagree.
Don't forget that there are three tabs on the top right side of the Reward Book when it's open. One tab is for the main factions and another two for the Year of the Boar and Wererat.
That doesn't mean my point is less valid.
but "imagine belittling someone elses concern just because it doen't affect you" i guess.
Spot on.
