More ! Female ! Skins !
I know that most of you will say the gender of your character/skin doesn't matter that much and that I'm just being bitter but honestly?
I'm so sick of playing men.

Skellige doesn't have a single woman.

Monster doesn't have a single woman (the female monster and spider donr't count).

Nilfgaard has one.

You have to pay for Ciri.

And only Northern Realm and Scoia'tael have three options (which is nice).

EDIT:
I innitially said there were even fewer female skins than there actually are.
However my wish still stands:
I wish there were more women so I'd have more options!

I couldn't agree more. A Cerys skin for SK would be great, but there are in fact other female skins.

Journey Premium gets you Ciri (can be played with any faction).

Nilfgaard has Anna Henrietta (one of the best looking female skins).

Northern Realms has both Queen Calanthe and Queen Meve.

Monsters has Gernichora (trust me, it's female).

Scoai;tael has Dana (another good skin).

Syndicate has Gundrun Bjornsdottir (kinda punky).

All except Gudrun have to be unlocked by spending keys. Meve and Gernichora are quite expensive to unlock.

On a positive note there's a new expansion coming so hopefully it will have at least one female cosmetic skin.and the next Journey will most definitely be Yennifer as the Premium cosmetic skin.

Been waiting for Cerys skin since Closed Beta. Would love to see that.

SK is definitely lacking female skins, but you are not correct about the other factions.

Female skin? *cry in MO*

ps: I have Ciri, the rest doesn't matter :steamhappy: . Execpt, the day where Triss* will come as Journey.
*I'm joking, team Yennefer here

They already did Geralt, and right now Ciri. The next one could be Yennifer in some logic indeed.

Nilfgaard doesn't have a single female skin.

Monster doesn't have a single female skin.

The North has one poorly looking woman in ripped clothes.

It's not that hard to include at least one decent looking female character per fraction, is it?
I want to be some powerful warlock lady, a luxuroisly dressed queen, the mother of demons, ...whatever.
Just not a man.
for once.

(and no, I don't want to play Scoia'tael)

I do agree there could be more accessible female skins, but like Darth Joules covered there are actually a number of skins you might have overlooked. It just takes time to unlock them I guess.

I also agree with you that the type of character you play as does indeed matter, and for a number of reasons - roleplay, immersion, variety, and if you identify as female then your enjoyment of the game is likely to be higher if you get to play as your own gender!

>when you are so focused on your imaginary "oppression" that it is easier for you to write an angry post than spend a fraction of that time on skimming through the menus and options of the game you're playing

though i still hope it's just bait

Complete and utter horse ploppies!!

I think you're imagining their imaginary "oppression". The OP was making a fair comment on the lack of female avatars because there are 28 male leaders, but only 9 female leaders (excluding Ciri and Geralt because they're premium and any shop bought leaders). Not to also mention some of the female leaders look bad like Adda.

Next journey there are already people vouching and asking CDPR for a journey involving Triss and Yen. You can expect a Triss and/or Yen as a neutral skin (the most sexy ever female character in the witcher world, so stay tune).

There is a "lack" of those because there are not as many notable female characters in the lore to begin with (compared to the number of male ones). And clearly one cannot just go and make up some new "powerful warlock lady" just for the sake of "equality" or what not, because that would contradict said lore.

I do however agree that including Yennefer, Triss and maybe some other sorceresses of the Lodge like Fringilla as NR/NG would probably be an ok decision. Also Cerys for SK. Other than that I don't even know. Maybe a Kitsune in female form for MO.

Care to explain why you counted creatures such as Woodland Spirit, Svalblod and especially Arachas QUEEN as "male characters"? :D

It'll be Yennifer because she's part of the main triumvirate of characters. Geralt, Ciri, and Yen. Likely Yen will be paired with another character from the Lodge of Sorceress as the non Premium character.

Oops, I did miss out the Araches Queen as a female. The Woodland Spirit is however ambiguous. Swalblod is actually the embodiment of both man and bear so definitely very alpha male.

Thank you so much for taking some time out of your day to list the female characters for me that I've clearly missed! :)
I've only been playin for a couple of days and tried to look through all the rewards systems today to find more female characters and didn't find any (except Scoia'tael) (I find the menu quite confusing).
I'll look them up, thank you! :)

Thank you for putting it into words better than I did in my rage! :D

Personally, I wouldn't mind if they added characters just for Gwent, but I understand that others might disagree.

Don't forget that there are three tabs on the top right side of the Reward Book when it's open. One tab is for the main factions and another two for the Year of the Boar and Wererat.

Some people care more about their characters/design than others.
That doesn't mean my point is less valid.

but "imagine belittling someone elses concern just because it doen't affect you" i guess.
