Game is a crap tonne of fun and i'm disappointed that i didn't start playing sooner
Most Gwent players use GOG
Aren't you forced use GOG even on steam and mobile? you can't avoid using it...
lets say each of the 2000 players plays 2 hours before going offline and others join in the meantime so the number is steady that would be 24000 unique players every day. ROUGHLY.
How many of those play everyday? thats all just estimations, but its far far farrr from dead. Wtf.
Why do people always think a game has to have 50k online at any given time with a playerbase in the 100.000 to be alive. I will never understand.
Game wasnt dead before steam release, by far. And its not going to die now. If anything steam has made it bigger already.
Lock it, problem solved. It's always worthwhile to try and keep at least one card with locking ability in your deck/hand for stuff like that. Dorregaray of Vole is a great option as a neutral faction card that can go into any deck.
Or use a round like that to thin out some of the poorer cards from your hand in order to prepare for the next round.
I keep the shackles for locking, but he can get his combo going on his turn before I get a chance to lock the unit. I also had him use the vampire in two consecutive rounds, I didn't see how he managed to do that but I have a card that can spawn a creature from my graveyard so I assumed he has something similar or maybe there are two different respawning vampire cards he can choose.
Unless there's some card I haven't seen yet that can passively stop cards from being summoned from your opponents graveyard I don't see any way to beat it. Maybe a deck reliant on rng, with that viper witcher and the unit that discards a card in both player's hands when played, and you hope you managed to get the right card could work. If he's at the point where he's playing that vampire card he's already won, it's that powerful, you need some way to get rid of it before he plays it.
Actually.. maybe if I make a deck that focuses on resetting units. Resetting his broken overpowered creatures that have consumed half a dozen perpetually respawning vampires could work but it would still be tricky, would still have to beat his base unit creatures strength with my own. Maybe I'll give it another try.
Also there are no real p2w decks like in heartstone for example, its absolutely crazy how competetive free players can be here so im not sure what you mean by new players getting turned off... you should see other games..., but ofc you have to learn to deal with problems and craft necessary cards with scraps.
