It looks really good but ummm... 1000 gems???
You ask us to pay over 10 euro JUST FOR two skins that look extremally basic, while still having to pay only 800 gems for different FULL set.

Please, for the love of god, lower this price to be more affordable.

Yeah its not like you already have to pay 10 euro/dolars to get capes priced at +/- 500 gems, and they're making bundles that costs 1k gem while *full* armor sets costs less than it. What are you even saying xD And the 20$ month sub argument is just laughable. Its not the first time they're making something super overpriced only to release it few weeks later with discount, but this one is way, way overpriced, even if it will be on discount soon.

Capes were free in GW1. In fact, they were one of those things that was expected in GW2.
Kinda like guild wars.

1000 Gems is not much if you reached endgame, heck, people who played enough should have plenty of gems to cover the price.
If you really want a cape for free, there are often giveaways, just keep your eyes and ears open.

Have to? Nobody is forcing you to purchase cosmetics.
Besides, exclusivity through pricing is a big appeal for some players

Please stop adding overpriced cosmetics. :') I know, they're just cosmetics, but could you make them at least *little* cheaper? (Of course I understand you all need to make money since the game is free, but it's a shame all of these nice cosmetics are out of reach for me)

It's not that people can't get the gems in game without spending money, the point is that it's preditory towards people who will buy the gems to begin with and it also ruins the game when all the skins are hidden behind microtransactions instead of earning it. for example the primeval armor from gw1. Not to mention they keep pumping in ridiculous anime skins and mounts, at least compared to gw1's skins.

Don't let a gaming company gas light you into thinking they need monthly subscriptions or microtransactions revenue to keep the game alive. You paid at least $60 for this game. You paid AAA price for the base game and probably the expansions as well. The cost of keeping the servers going will never come close to what the players paid on the base game alone.

You dont know much about gem conversion in this game, don't you? I know that it looks very simple - you find your gold farming method, you enjoy it, and then you go all-in on tp and spend it all for gems. Right? No, not really. You see buddy - somebody HAS TO pay 10euro/dolars or more to get gems to the tp; otherwise gems would cost so much noone would get them as they would be just too expensive.
You basically buy somebody else gems for your gold.

All am saying is they USED TO make cheap armors, heck - even those capes were cheaper, while looking way fancier and cooler and now we got 1k gems for super basic looking cape. You dont see any problems here, dont you? xD
I'm spending my money often for things I enjoy, and I enjoy gw2 the most as its my favourite mmo of all time, but I simply refuse paying too much for things THAT basic.
800 gems would be too much but it would make up something like 100-150g difference, which would be 1 day less getting money.
