I think there was a racoon mini in the game. So if you get the racoon jackal skin you can make it look like you're riding a racoon mother who forgot it had a baby and said baby is constantly desperately trying to keep up with you. The thought is making me laugh as I type this, oh man! :winter2019joyfultearsyul:
I've recently purchased Imperial Crane skin for Raptor mount. Was kinda disapointed by the fact that Anet didn't even try to create custom sounds for it when it runs and jumps, my bird still sounds like a big lizard when it moves around, that's pretty cheap for premium stuff, Anet.. Custom sound effects like that wouldn't require that much effort from you to create.

Also, though the skin itself is gorgeous, its animations are.. lacking. It looks too static when it runs and jumps, in particular, these feathers could flap on the wind more, and flutter more when it turns or stops abruptly. And if you use its engagement skill it does the same thing as the original lizard, but now it looks super awkward when it's a bird, it could use its own unique egagement animation, may be it should peck repeatedly while flapping its wings, or something, instead of that spin it does.

You really expect to see more soul put into premium skins like that, otherwise it disincentivizes further purchases.

Having more mounts in premium shop than unlockable in a B2P game with expansions is really pathetic.

There are no "mounts" in premium shop, only skins (cosmetics).

I mean the skin variety is like mount variety. Like calling - there are no mounts in world of warcraft because 300 mounts have the same functions.. i know they are skins - but it's mmorpg that need variety of this type of stuff and it grants success of the game. Variety of transmog, mounts, pets and being able to collect stuff. As a small part of the playing long term mmorpg. That's why there's no any mmo that take wow from it's throne in fun and in long term playability. Players have a tons of stuff to collect and people who like different vibes can spent more time to collect whatever they want to make they "power fantasy" true and increase immersion of the fantasy they are doing.

It's nothing like that, at all. First is gameplay mechanics and locking it from users who already bought the expac would already step into p2w territory. The other one is nothing at all. You also seem to know very little about the game, judging by how you phrased it before: "more mounts". There has been 0 unlockable mount skins in the game till recently. If you refer to those skins from Wizard Vault you now can get by doing dailies, then WV wasn't there a few years ago at all, so only somebody who just jumped onto that train could put it like that. For 10+ years before you would have 0 chances to unlock any mount skin by just playing the game (except by buying gems for gold, what is barely feasible for 99.99% of players in such quantities), their model was "we don't have subscription, you pay once - but if you want extra utility or look really pretty, you need to pay real money".

It's basically a huge step forward and a gift by Anet to their users. So it's pretty funny to hear somebody responding to it by "you gave us too little free crap we actually are supposed to buy from you" lol. You want "unlock" more crap "for free" - play the games that charge you monthly then, that's their commercial model. You should be grateful you get so much from Anet for free already.
