They're planing something big soonish it seems.

Many claim it's some sort of card game set in the Guild Wars universe

I Just wish that mounts like Jackal and Springer get more love.

Jackal really has no use outside sand portals in Elona
Springer got invalidated years ago with the addition of Skyscales.

And lets be honest, Raptor mount is hanging on a thread as well only because its dismount ability has good mob pull and no other reason.

(also It would be really cool if you could Fish while riding a skimmer, using the fishing boat when solo is just kinda slow annoying and clunky)

I love my kitty warclaw! <3 Truly a job well done on that one. Especially love the double jump as i can't get the skyscale yet.

It's such a shame. Hopefully they'll add some more functionality to both of those mounts in the future. Jumping around the Mad King Springer race made me remember how much I love my little cuckoo bird. I'm just as sad about the Turtle. It had a tiny niche of doing siege damage, usable only in Drizzle and EoD maps, but even that's gone now that the Skyscale has a long range siege blast. Having a lot of health doesn't really matter if you can just shoot outside the range of your enemies.

I do love the Warclaw. I think it's well balanced and has a lot of utility without taking away from other mounts. For example it's fast but not as fast as raptor for racing. It can jump far, but can't jump/glide as far as Griffon or Skyscale. What it really excels at is mounting in a fight. Skyscale has the same ability, but on a very long cooldown. Having it only get longer if you use it more often was a really nice idea. It could use some more integration, though. The scent ability only works in Janthir, but the game is filled with events and situations where you're looking for stuff in the world, digging the ground, what have you. Would be really nice if those were included with the scent ability. Or just some random loot around the world. I mean who cares if you go looking for treasure outside of Janthir, it'll still take just as long. Might even get the constant MYTHIC WHERE???? spam out of the Janthir map chats. Or you might turn it into an event where hidden loot spawns around the world for a week or so.

Personally I believe that each mount should have a specific use case. The skyscale lets you reach high and thats about it, the raptor is fast on the ground, the griffon can take you to places fast IF you have high elevation, the springer, like the skyscale, is also used to get elevation but it is the less premium-feeling alternative, the roller beetle gets you around INSANELY fast but you must have large open spaces for that. I could keep going. The issue with the generalist mount such as the warclaw is that nobody really ends up using it. Don't like fall damage? Just use the griffon, and you'll get down even faster. In fact you can use any mount for this as you don't actually take any damage when your mount dies of fall damage. You want to get to high places? You already have the springer. I could keep going but i think you see what I mean.

I see a similar issue with Jackal. The only time i've ever used it is for getting the griffon mount (I think I needed it to get to a certain place or something, I don't remember). Its really cool how you get a bit of extra health when you dismount with it but I don't see myself switching to jackal specifically every time i need the health. Just takes too long.

It would be really cool if the warclaw was more combat-oriented. The chain pull is already a cool mechanic that I love using during events in Janthir Wilds, and I really wish you guys leaned more into this combat direction.

I can think of another use for the skyscale. The ultimate AFK tool in places that have melee only enemies. A bunch of branded minotaurs can't touch you if you are hovering above their heads. But I agree with you for the most part.

I'm going to take a guess and say that Anet wanted to change the icon to give it a new feel/look. Maybe they thought the old one wasn't attractive enough for potential new players to look at so they gave it a fresh set of paint.

At the end of the day though, its just speculation, cause I like to do that from time to time. The only way to truly know is being on the Anet team and working at the office, lol

I have been having a lot of fun with the Warclaw. Fun, easy to use, and very useful in the open world.

now u can "revamp" all the other mounts!

What if they just enable all Land Mounts in WvW but with restricted movement like how Warclaw Moves in WvW and Outside WvW.

Like Jackal, Raptor and Springer having an equivalent distance as Warclaw Leap in WvW but with different animations.

Just a thought for players who spent Gems on PVE mount skins and unable to utilize them as they are always in WvW.

get obscure and do the missions there to unlock it , its not hard to do , or you do season 4 unlock that is noticably longer
