My PC can run GW2 but i'm explaining many people in GW2 are still running pre 2006 Pcs.
Hell my pc is 7+ years old.
Core i5 7500
rx580 8gb
32gb ram
I am using Linux with GeForce GTX 1660 Super and GW2 on DX11 is working smoother than native Windows thanks to DXVK that's included in Steam Proton (it's similar to d912prxy for Vulkan). The only thing that's slower is the Black Lion Trading Post, which gets slower and slower the more you open it due to memory leak if I understand correctly, but it goes back speedy after a game restart.
They should just do silent update for migration to dx-11 & no need to even announce it considering most if not all people who's gaming on their PC/laptop already has at minimum dx-11 compatible GPU and many even already migrate to newer dx-12 compatible GPU.
GW2 runs great thanks to Proton and DXVK!
Ironically, i can enable FSR, and have gamemode to boost even more performance, and thanks to FSR, it looks better than it does on windows (when running the same native resolution), cause i couldn't enable FSR there! The irony! :D
All in all, a great experience!
they're a bit more potatoey next to expansion content.
Will you also be able to tweak the CPU bottleneck issue somewhere down the line? I suspect it's a completely different beast of a task, but still, I'm hoping.
I mean, I have a 3060ti and I can run Cyberpunk 2077 with maxed out ray tracing better than GW2 at meta events.
