Yeah bro you totally need a 3000-series nvidia GPU to play Guild Wars 2.
If you are going to buy a new PC you'd buy it for all gaming not just ancient GW2.

Can't buy either of those in Australia.
man if you have an older system from 2006 or something like than then its time for you to upgrade, if you have a modern system or even a system after 2011 for example guild wars 2 will run better then ever before it is really that simple
My PC can run GW2 but i'm explaining many people in GW2 are still running pre 2006 Pcs.

Hell my pc is 7+ years old.
Core i5 7500
rx580 8gb
32gb ram

It'll still run on linux, will it? :^)
I just used Nvidia Geforce Now to play GW2 for about a year now. No lag here.

If you were using DXVK to run it, yes.

[...]On linux, you will need a Vulkan capable graphics card.
You can check if your card supports Vulkan here:
http://vulkan.gpuinfo.org/ [...]

I am using Linux with GeForce GTX 1660 Super and GW2 on DX11 is working smoother than native Windows thanks to DXVK that's included in Steam Proton (it's similar to d912prxy for Vulkan). The only thing that's slower is the Black Lion Trading Post, which gets slower and slower the more you open it due to memory leak if I understand correctly, but it goes back speedy after a game restart.

This is already 2023, who's still using dx-9 GPU in their system ? Those GPU was already a relic from bygone era.

They should just do silent update for migration to dx-11 & no need to even announce it considering most if not all people who's gaming on their PC/laptop already has at minimum dx-11 compatible GPU and many even already migrate to newer dx-12 compatible GPU.

Yeah, TP has some bug, but i think they're changing the browser engine the game uses for a lot of stuff, so TP should be fixed eventually.
GW2 runs great thanks to Proton and DXVK!
Ironically, i can enable FSR, and have gamemode to boost even more performance, and thanks to FSR, it looks better than it does on windows (when running the same native resolution), cause i couldn't enable FSR there! The irony! :D
All in all, a great experience!

This will definitely hurt the performance on Linux. Being on a steamdeck and being barely able to run this game at 1080p 40hz on dx11 vs full 60 on dx9. it's a sad loss. I hope they move towards Vulkan in the future.

the game still dont run well on amd processors even nowdays, so if u do play this game since release, sure u must already know at this point that optimization isnt gw2 bright point and have a system not so old to actually still play it now, otherwise u could just stopped playing since couldnt handle the meta events on expansion at 1-5fps, meta events on the last 2 expansions are no joke, even more ppl than the first ones...
I know i'm running amd and its really poor even on a rx580 dx 11, its why i knocked back to dx9...
Your CPU must be a huge bottleneck to that GPU.

Really hoping this leads to a graphics/lighting update for at least most of the core maps.
they're a bit more potatoey next to expansion content.

This is great. News of progress is always welcome.

Will you also be able to tweak the CPU bottleneck issue somewhere down the line? I suspect it's a completely different beast of a task, but still, I'm hoping.

I mean, I have a 3060ti and I can run Cyberpunk 2077 with maxed out ray tracing better than GW2 at meta events.

I hope this changes will make the game less shiny on max settings

Turn post-processing off. The bloom is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous. Like early PS3 game smeared with bloom on some maps
Yeah, that's what I'm doing, but also bcs of that you miss some important effects in PvP and PvE
