Is There a Way for Me to Farm Gold for Purchasing Living World Season 2 Chapters Without Skipping the Story Order?

Hello. I want to buy the discounted HoT+PoF and End of Dragons for $22. But I don't want the full version. My question is, can I unlock the living season 2 without starting the living season 2 story, farming gold without going through the story and playing before Hot+PoF? I want to farm the living world to open the game, but I don't want to skip the second season.

So I'm guessing you have just started and have only the basic game. LW2 is available for 1280 gems in game, somewhere between 400 - 500 gold iirc. Farming that kind of gold in pve is going to be a hard grind. PVP tournaments can be lucrative. WVW and PVP reward tracks can be profitable. Selling mid tier crafting materials can put some coin into the coffer. I know people that make about 500 gold per week in WVW mostly by converting volatile magic into trophy boxes and selling all of it on the trading post (On average 100 gold of trophy boxes/bundles, if all sold on tp, will return 150 gold). Others collect mats and sell legendary weapons (Wizard's vault offers a legendary starter for 1000 wizard currency).

Actually, what I want to ask is not how difficult it is or how long it will take. It's whether it can be done. The example of "Riba" was given. They said you can farm 20 gold coins an hour. That is reasonable. I don't get bored with the game because I open living worlds by farming for 50-60 hours. What I want to say is that by farming in the main game and living world 1, you can open living world 2 without going through the story.

It can be done - I played the story in chronological order, and bought LWS2 via gold-to-gems conversion back around 2016-ish. And that was long before they re-added the LWS1 content or introduced Wizard's Vault or even unidentified gear.

Disassembling rare gear from rare unidentified bags (or any bag that drops rare quality stuff once identified) for ectoplasm is also profitable, provided you are okay with not having it for yourself later. Ectoplasm is used for many things, especially for generation 1 legendary crafting, so selling it may leave you at a time disadvantage later. Make sure to disassemble level 69+ rare gear or better with master salvage kits or better.

A stack of ectoplasm, 250, sells for about 70 gold on the trading post at the moment.

Another material earnable from various methods are mystic coins, which are also fairly high demand items. Each mystic coin sells for roughly 2 gold each on the trading post. I must stress that like ectoplasm mystic coins are used for myriad services and you will likely find yourself wanting them later.

Liquidating material supply can be profitable, but you should sell what you aren't interested in using. If you're not interested in crafts or legendaries, tier 6 materials are always sold at a high value. Most tier 6 materials sell for around 30 silver each.

During the Halloween event last month, I keep spamming ascent to madness until i got enough wings to purchase 1 living world season. I've only started playing last month so mad king's labyrinth is not that profitable, be sure to stick around whenever festivals come, there will be a way to make more gold.

Yes you can buy every single Living World Episode with farmed Gold.
You only have to buy the Expansions with real Money ( PoF+HoT, EoD, SoTo, Janthir) and then you just do the Base Story in the right order, do some MetaEvents in the Coregame, do WvW, PvP, or farm in the Silverwaste to get the Gold for the Living World Episodes.

Yes, it can be done and is actually a good motivator to even play the game.
As already mentioned, for you RIBA in Silverwaste and Fractals are a good place to do it.

Keep in mind that the LVS go on sale too, but rarely.
Black Friday/Cyber Monday have a very good chance for having one.

if you have laurels you can buy material bags (look up what one is worth it) i make around 40-50g on 100 laurals more or less. crafting materials is defensively a good way to go if you don't have the expansions.

Yes, it can, but to be able to convert coin into gems, you will need an unlocked account (so you will have to buy any expansion before you can buy season 2.
