What do i need to buy to have access to everything ?

Hello. I am wanting to try out Guild Wars 2 again its been years since I have played I don't know anything. What do I need to purchase to have access to all levels and content ??? Also what is the best class/spec for PvP ?

If you want to play on your old account on Steam, you will need to add the command line "-provider Portal" (without the quotes) in the Steam launch options. Remember that you will have to buy everything from the "official" store.

If you want access to everything, you will have to look what you are missing, because there are a few options. But I would wait a bit, since discounts are coming soon.

Best class, depends on your skill imo.

It depends on if you already have an old account since you might have some content on it already unlocked that you no longer need to buy. but in general, the buyable content consists of all 5 expansions, which are HoT, PoF, EoD, SotO and JW, together with living world seasons 2-5, with season 5 also being called the ice brood saga. And if you don't know in which order to play through the story, the ingame story journal nicely shows the correct order.

Also, be aware of that a Steam GW2 account and a regular GW2 account have completely separate payment options. No purchase you make on Steam will help you getting anything on your regular GW2 account. So since it sounds like your account is too old to be a Steam GW2 account, simply don't play or purchase GW stuff on Steam and you're good.

Btw, no matter what you buy the max lvl always stayed at lvl 80, it was never changed.

GW2 on Steam was only released 2 years ago. And I guess if you would have played it on Steam it would show you your playtime on Steam? For me Steam shows that you do not own GW2, so I would assume you never played it on Steam and thus have a regular GW2 account. So if you forgot your password you probably have to let it send a password reset mail to your mail adress. Though if you also changed your mail adress since then ... you probably have to write the support and hope that you have enough personal information to get your account back.

In general I don't really see any reason to start a new account for GW2. I think just creating a new character should be good enough.
