Near to top of the page, you will see Notice: You are follow a Core (or F2P) guide. That difference between to two is huge. As stated previously, the reason for the difference is Core Accounts (those that payed for an expansion) have full access to the TP where as F2P do not.
The point is, i bought all my stuff for it in the tradeing post. And i just needed 50 - 60 gold for 500.
My friend now, did the same, but after 400 he needed ectoplasma (alot of them) 1 is 35s worth. This stuff is not included in the guide and so he dont need 50g, instead of this he needs 120 and more gold.
I used not one single ectoplasma for my crafting stuff. So i guess there was a change somewhere in the last 2 Months.

Core players buy Gossamer Insignia's
F2P players cannot buy Gossamer Insignia's
That is the difference. The time frame is irrelevant here.
Again, near the top of the page, you will see the notice. There is a huge difference between Core players (those who have bought an expansion thus have all access to the Trading Post), and F2P players who do not have full access to the TP.
The time difference is irrelevant. The difference is between Core & F2P. Your friend was on the F2P guide while you were on the Core guide.
Your question has been answered. As I have stated previously, The guide you used was a Core guide. Your friend had the F2P guide. The difference between the two are vastly different. That Notice up near the top of the page is there to alert you which guide you are on and even has a link to the other version if needed.
Ooo, are there trading addons?
No, not really. However there is a website that you can link your account with that aids with crafting. https://gw2efficiency.com/ It can be pretty handy to organize and research your projects.
Sry, now i understand, there are 2 different guides. didnt saw that.
they're called that for a reason
also WTF is the site's ADs popping up malware warnings?!?
