Infinite Volatile Magic Gathering Tools worth it?

As the title says, I'm wondering if they're worth it. They're currently on sale for 2160 gems, rather than 2700.

worth it compared to how many tools you'd have to buy ingame to match what you paid for them? not remotely. but if you want the convenience and like the way they look, go for it. just be warned if you want to use them across multiple characters, you're going to need to store them in your shared inventory slots, which will be an extra charge if you're short on slots

I think they are worth it, but only if you gather a lot. It will take a lot of time to start returning a profit over their price, especially if you converted gold to get the gems.

Also, either make sure you always gather materials on the same character or be ready to visit the bank every time you want to move them to another one.

I have mine in shared inv, but I already mentioned the extra charge if you don't have the slots for that. Either way you have to remember to take them off your characters before you log off I guess

Similarly to the salvage-o-matics, the infinite tools are mainly for convenience, so whether they are worth it comes down to how much convenience they will give you. As mentioned you only get one set, so if you play several characters a lot their value goes down, while if you have one main you play all the time, their value goes up. They are also only worthwhile if you actually use them; if you don't gather a lot, they are nearly worthless, but if you harvest everything you see, they would be quite valuable.

I will also mention that if all you need is infinite gathering tools and don't care much about the volatile magic part, you can get a set from the Black Lion Statuettes store for 45 statuettes for each tool, so a full set costs 135. That's quite a few, but if you get lucky or wait for a chance to get more of them, it's not too hard to get.

Volatile Magic hasn't been valuable for like 4 years now. So they're not gonna make you any kind of money.
If you spend a lot of the currency and need infinite tools, go for it.

Not exactly true. Mats crates like Trophy, Cloth, Wood, etc are sold via Volatile Magic merchants.

You're making less than 1s per gather (i.e., 3 mining strikes, logging strikes, or 1 plant gather). The game will shut down before you make any kind of profit.

Only if you buy the tools for the sole purpose of returning profit on it, then yes, you have your work cut out for you. But, I think it's a mistake to not factor in the convenience of having infinite tools, and the exchange rate is a nice addition to mitigate their cost. It's all about your mindset.

It's also kind of moot, anyway, if you buy them with real money, as you don't feel the loss of in-game gold that way.

Until they give infinite tools the legendary armoury treatment, the convenience goes out the window. You'd need to buy 3 shared slots to swap them between characters, and even then you have a bunch of extra clicking to do.

The benefit just doesn't outweigh the cost and inconvenience of swapping.

100k mining strikes just to break even per tool. The game will shut down before a player hits that after buying them. Avoid being obtuse: you picked an argument on a subject you knew the answer to. Imagine that...
