It's worth it. There are stil releasing new content.
As for GW3 "supposed to come" is the right word. It's probably still 5+ years untill they release that with the way arenanet does things.
Thanks for the answer but I decided on World of Warcraft

smart choice
rough, choosing the subscription based game that is dying. GW2 and WOW have literally nothing in common. Except that WOW tries to copy GW2 mounts.

Of course it's worth it. Do you think a MMO would even still be alive after 13 years if it wasn't good and worth it? MMOs are gone and forgotten after less than a year usually if they're not worth it, so 13 years and counting in the case of GW2 should seriously tell you something
Not to mention that there's also the "Hall of Monuments" system, which gives players who played GW1 rewards in GW2, so it's also not completely impossible that they'll add something similar, and people will be able to get nice stuff and rewards in GW3 for playing GW2

As someone who wasted way too many years and too much time in WoW, I can tell you, that's a decision you'll regret. Maybe not at first, but the day will come.

You'll forgive the small rant, can't help myself -> Not just mounts, world quests in WoW are made based directly on GW2's dynamic events; the covenant system in Shadowlands was modelled after the concept of the orders in GW2; much of Maldraxxus and Necrolord concepts, and especially architecture, is directly modelled after Palawa Joko and the Awakened,; now after GW2 added player housing they "mysteriously" player housing for the next WoW expac too; GW2 started doing yearly expansions and shortly after WoW switched to yearl expansions: GW2 calls the first 3 expansions Elder Dragon SAGA, and shortly after the WoW guys announce that the 3 next expacs will be called World Soul SAGA, etc. etc.
Not to mention that as soon as GW2 posts trailers and announces anything, some WoW announcement or trailer is dropped literally not even an hour later

Like, at this point it's actually seriously pathetic how rent free GW2 lives in their minds lmao
But I suppose that's hardly surprising, the WoW guys have been obsessed with GW2 and FFXIV considering that they lost a bunch of long-term players to them, and their game never truly recovered after the Shadowlands disaster and is still going downhill

The only thing I like in WoW is the Druid and the story. But I like GW2 more in terms of graphics and gameplay. But the classes, not so much.

I can understand why you'd question commiting the game then, because people mostly "click" and start truly enjoying GW2 when they find a class that sits well with them.
When I played for the first time I was kinnda sceptical, I started as ranger, but as soon as I rolled a guardian I started enjoying the game waaaaaaaaay more, been playing ever since

So yeah, if really none of the classes suit you, maybe it's indeed best if you pick another MMO

The cope is insane. GW3 ISN'T COMING! AND IF IT IS, IT'S AGES AWAY!!!

Look at the facts: GW2 quality fell off a cliff. Expansions moved to "mini-expansions", which are smaller than the old, free LW episodes. The shareholder meeting leaked GW3. And for years they've been recruiting devs for an "unnamed project".

GW3 is probably, at most, 2 years away. All the signs point to this.

The fact they have a team of 10 interns recycling assets to sell as expansions either means they're shamelessly greedy, or they're buoying against the expenditure GW3 is creating.

As someone who played that game for 10 years you just made a big mistake. But now you are forced to play a monthy sub when you can play GW2 for free everyday. And community is one of the worst.
Update: I'm currently trying out the ranger and I like it. I like GW2's graphics and world more than WoW's. I'll probably prefer GW2.
