That's probably your best option while you level. It adds up.

None of this is what I'd call fast gold but it is something you can add to other gold making techniques as supplemental gold making. I use all of them and make about 8 gold a day without actually farming gold and just playing the game. It would be maybe 10 gold a day if I actually sold the unidentified gear but I tend to hold it till I need it.

For starters do your daily challenges for 1 gold. That will add up over time though not very quickly. To see challenges look at top left of screen. I think it is the second from the right called Wizards Tower, which is new to me since I've been gone a while.

Currently, and also new to me, is what the points from daily and weekly challenges can buy which is gold. The second icon on the left, when you open up the Wizards Tower page, is a shop type thing. You can buy 1 gold for 6 points but there is a limit, which I can't remember. After you buy all of those there is a more expensive, and apparently infinite gold item but it now costs 35 (?) points for 1 gold.

Than you can sell on the trading post which is the icon on the farthest right at the top of the screen next to the Wizards Tower icon. Anything you farm for professions can sell you just have to see what sells for at least 1 silver or more per unit and farm the heck out of it. Yellow gear normally sells for around 20-27ish silver each so do Bosses. I think higher level events also might give you yellows but haven't been paying attention since coming back.

Something else I do is save the blue. green and yellow unidentified gear you'll get as you quest, do events and fight bosses. Before I had left I had tested if opening them, dismantling them and than selling mats or keeping them unidentified makes more money but can't remember anymore so I just hold onto them and than sell them in bulk later on. Found out blues stack to 250 and make a couple of gold for that stack. Greens get you more money and yellows even more money.

EDIT: Something to mention is if you are into cosmetic looks you can apply to weapons and gear than you'll want to add the looks of gear you find and not sell it. I think it binds when you add the look but not positive. You'll have to look to see if a piece of gears look is unlocked for you before selling if that is the case. Normally blues and greens won't even need to be looked at after you've played a while but there will almost always be yellows you'll need.
Geez I am gonna play this game for years I think...
