I understand that but how do I hide it until I might eventually decide to buy something? It's really annoying having it there all the time.

The game is not free. That banner is clearly costing you pieces of your eternal soul.

The game tries to remind you all the time to buy something. Thats why I eventually quit after 500hrs, it doesnt stop. I always thought ok so I buy this and then I have everything I need and the game will finally shut up and let me play... nope.
If a game has tools you can buy that give you additional resources its a red flag imo.

^ That's a huuuge amount of words. As SinisterSlay said: you can't.
The game has a bunch of annoying pop-ups that never go away like this, e.g., if you glide or fly into a leyline, you'll get popups telling you to get the SotO expansion. It's irritating.

It does that even if you have the soto expansion before you get the relevant mastery.
