Review bots appeared

As you maybe noticed if you open the Steam page for GW2, the Guild Wars 2 reviews on Steam are extremely good to say the least, and just recently it went up from 88% positive to 89% positive, which makes GW2 one of the best rated MMOs currently available on Steam.

Seems the competition does not like that, because some sort of ridiculous weak attempts at review bombing seem to have started. If any mod or member of support is reading this, please do something about this nonsense, because this is simply pathetic.

But on the other hand, it's amusing that the competition seems to tremble because of GW2, they must be doing something right.

Examples of the reviews are below, they're all exactly and completely the same within each type:
(Small Edit - some of them have been removed in the meantime, so if a link doesn't work, the review's gone. I'll try to get rid of those that don't work anymore, and I'll add some new ones because they seem to be appearing)

My account has been suspended for no reason, at least any reason that I know of as tell won't tell me. I literally only done solo content just enjoying the game and then logged in one day saying my steam account has been suspended for security reason and customer support won't answer.

Game does not respect your time at all. Straight out locks class specializations and transmogrification and mounts with traversal functions that are required behind grind walls

mastery system is an absolute timesink

pay 30$ for gathering equipment that doesn't run out

First of all I actually like this game, good combat, good progression system.

The negative review exists because I really don't want to buy it on steam, and I already have a f2p areanet account with 2 level 80 farming for 2 weeks. But areanet's payment system for UK debit cards is pure trash. So I have to buy the expansion here and start over...

So bad, In few minutes it will say your client is error lost connection although i have ♥♥♥ good internet,, I have try every thing to fix it I have out of idea fk game

Most of the bots have been dealt with by Steam, as you can see for example here or on some of the other links: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561199591889325/recommended/1284210/

Only a few remain, but I'm sure those will be gone soon as well.

As for certain individuals here who were trying to defend and justify these extremely obvious bots, hope you'll contemplate a bit about some of your choices

More likely the bots are hacked accounts that weren't used for more than 10 years

Well, I think that Steam should intervene in either case, because these are definitely not legit reviews and only serve to purposefully try to bring the rating down for whatever reason, this kind of stuff should not be tolerated for any games on Steam

If anyone's interested, I edited in some examples of the new ones from today into the original post above, but as I've suspected this only seems to be the beginning, so I honestly hope that Steam's going to do something about it because at this pace it could easily escalate rather quickly

I've updated the post above with links to some fresh ones that appeared today again in case anyone's interested.
Seems that no matter how many get removed, new ones keep popping up, this is going to become a serious problem if it continues even at this "slower" daily speed.

I assume the bots are deliberately posting around 50 to 100 reviews on separate days so it doesn't look suspicious, especially to Steam's automated systems, that's probably also the reason why they copy/paste reviews that at least somewhat look like they're talking about the game instead of just posting empty ones. But they're always the same 5 types of review as above, never anything different.

Idk if anyone knows how to contact Anet directly to inform them of this and let them know what's happening so that they can ask Steam directly for assistance, because even if some of these boted reviews get removed by mods, more keep coming on a daily basis now, and I'm pretty sure that's gonna start dropping the rating pretty hard if it isn't stopped.

It would appear someone's really on some sort of crusade against GW2

They're already removing them and did get rid of a bunch, but new ones keep appearing, hence the issue.

But I'm still curious why exactly you're trying to defend and justify these obvious review bots? Strikes me as rather peculiar, unless you have some sort of stake in it

The state of the game or any financial reports do not matter and are absolutely irrelevant in this matter, because the reviews are obviously bots that are only copy/pasting the same 5 comments over and over again, and not actually basing them on anything. Even if they were, they're obvious bots, there is absolutely no justification for them to be tolerated.
And as I've said before, it doesn't even matter which game it is, this kind of automated bot situation is not acceptable for ANY game on Steam.

But thank you for confirming my suspicions though, you trying to deflect now shows me that you either really do have some sort of stake in this bot situation, or you're just a keyboard warrior that's digging a deeper hole instead of admitting that you didn't even read the post or look at the example reviews before commenting, you just wanted a chance to try and rub in those financial reports to start an argument the comments

Quite frankly, I don't even care which one of those is the case, both are equally embarrassing, so please stop wasting my time now

Again, it's just someone expressing their views. That's kinda the point of a forum, isn't it?

Labelling everyone who doesn't agree with you a "keyboard warrior" who's "deflecting" is just...weird. Especially when you're literally admitting you have pre-conceived notions about anyone who doesn't see eye-to-eye with you.
