Review bots appeared

As you maybe noticed if you open the Steam page for GW2, the Guild Wars 2 reviews on Steam are extremely good to say the least, and just recently it went up from 88% positive to 89% positive, which makes GW2 one of the best rated MMOs currently available on Steam.

Seems the competition does not like that, because some sort of ridiculous weak attempts at review bombing seem to have started. If any mod or member of support is reading this, please do something about this nonsense, because this is simply pathetic.

But on the other hand, it's amusing that the competition seems to tremble because of GW2, they must be doing something right.

Examples of the reviews are below, they're all exactly and completely the same within each type:
(Small Edit - some of them have been removed in the meantime, so if a link doesn't work, the review's gone. I'll try to get rid of those that don't work anymore, and I'll add some new ones because they seem to be appearing)

Yep, already did, and provided the links to the same reviews as well.
Hopefully Steam staff does something about it, we'll have to wait and see ^^

And liking a game or not is completely irrelevant here, bots should not be permited to spam the reviews of ANY game whatsoever.

I'm very glad this post is not to your liking though, but more importantly this here raises a very interesting question - why would you go out of your way to defend bots and them spamming fake reviews?
If I remember correctly, you do have a habit of talking badly about the game on purpose around here and trying to mislead people, so I'm wondering now what your connection to these bots might be for you to white knight them so heroically here

I see, the "old" review bombing, well, it does not make any difference if a bunch of misfits are posting a negative review, it is review bombing when you get thousands of them trolling the review section.

The reviews are all fresh, barely 2 days old if you check the dates/times, that's why I specified in the post above that the bombing's just starting and that it's something that's in progress, not that it's complete or over

Probably the bots are all just actually ESO Developers alt army, because their own game is dying so their last huzzah is to review bomb all other mmo games.. instead of spending all that effort to fixing their own dead most laggy mmo in history of games.

I joke of course, or am i..? The timing with their latest crisis situations and 2025 of zero content = coincidence? I think not. *hands over tinfoil hats to everyone*

I'll just ignore them and keep gaming, GW2 players are gigachads and gigagrills.

It's so common knowledge, that some bots cannot do anything about it, even if there were millions of them. *sips tea*

The irony is so perfectly rich: a guy crying about supposed "bots", sat here throwing around accusations that others are "whining" about a game which is notoriously infested with, yep: bots.

Those "bots" need policing! No, not the ones farming PvP. No, not the ones farming mobs. No, not the ones farming metas. No, not the ones farming nodes with maphacks. The ones i made up, who are just guy copy-pasting negative review text.

You need to ignore him, even better, block him. He gets extremely angry when nobody agrees with him since he's the only one trying to hate on the game so badly and so often around here, so he gets super triggered when he sees people liking the game, even more so if they're sticking up for it. He seems to have a lot of issues, but he's been told that many times before so I'm not going to repeat that again.

In-game bots have N O T H I N G to do with bots in the reviews here. NOTHING. And Steam staff does NOT police GW2 in-game to even concern themselves with those in the first place bruh. So if you're grasping at excuses, at least learn to get better ones, not this weak stuff.

Zarturael also brought up an super valid point here, why the fk are you defending automated review bots? Like what possible good reason could anyone have to do this?! You're obviously not just extremely annoying, you seem to be quite suspicious too

Recent reviews sit at over 90% which is higher than the overall. That to me doesn't scream review bombing. But hey, if I could give this game a 2nd positive review I would because it's amazing
Edit: the reports from other people in this thread might be why I don't see the review bomb

You know, while I agree that she's definitely a bit too assertive in her communication towards you, you telling other people "keep the thread discussion going" after you were mostly spamming "who cares?" in your responses and trying to change the topic is just extreme hypocrisy

Yeah, seems they started handling them in the meantime, thankfully, but a bunch of the samey ones remain so I hope they'll keep cleansing them
Also, the irony of people spamming negative boted reviews and the game nonchalantly standing strong at over 90% positive, I really hope the bots and their patreons are fuming because of this results now ^^
