Guild Wars 2

New Players Guide To Dungeons ^^
I saw some people asking about dungeons recently so I wanted to make a little post for you since I'm one of the most veteran players of Guild Wars 2 been playing since Beta and I'm currently on my 313th max completion character I've also bought the DLC like 100 times over for many accounts cause you know I'm stupid lol

Anyway, You can still do the dungeons in the game without other players because I do them solo myself. Dungeons though in GW2 are extremely old it was quickly replaced and outdated back in the day about a decade ago by having things in the game like world bosses that being said though some people do run dungeons on LFG, Other players will need to do them too or want to experience that content they will eventually come up, I see them on most servers even to this day,

Anyway here's some tips to help you solo dungeons,

1. Use talkier gear as opposed to higher damage, The minions, adds or creeps or whatever you want to call them inside the dungeons have been powered creep'd so you'll eventually hit a point with your characters development where these dungeons just don't hurt, To help you with that you can easily make a dungeon build with your character that uses toughness and vitality with either power or conditioning that way you have sustain but steady damage which for most classes is enough to be able to solo and withstand any dungeon in the game solo. Keep in mind the exploration mode of dungeons can not be solo'd though as many of them require multiple players for inputs etc

If you're very comfortable with your full damage build though and feel you can outplay the minions etc for solo then go for it ^^

That's pretty much it. Doesn't really take a lot to solo the dungeons in GW2 because their just story relevant, It's not like other MMO's where the dungeons are you know grinded and stuff, Guild Wars 2 doesn't rely on dungeons as content for it's players. It relies on things like achievements completion, Fractals, Multiple characters per account, Roleplay, Festivals, Enjoying the game with others, PVP and most importantly, General freedom of how you wanna play really.

For me for example the fun for this game is in the completion and experiencing all of the classes and DLC in what they have to offer, I highly recommend buying all the DLC too and experiencing everything the game has to offer because it is in my opinion the best MMO in existence.

Anyway that's really all it takes to solo dungeons their not hard at all their only hard if you attempt to do them at the level it wants you to do them at in correlation to the story but if you come back with an actual build way later etc their really easy

Have an awesome day folks ^^

I know you can do it, I've seen the videos. But are we expecting F2P players to be that good?

good job. Here is an award!
Okay this must be rage bate or he´s just a fanboy so I´m gonna tell new players the real deal with dungeons cause this guy clearly skip info on purpose, firts of all you can´t solo dungeons as you level up on the recomended level, like the first one is level 30, so you will think, okay i´m level 30 i can solo it right now with a good build, nah, that ain´t happen you can solo it after you reach level 80 buy all exotic at least equipment incluiding rings, amulets, accesories, backpack you need to be full gear so you can first start in thinking soloin a dungeon also those dungeons are part of story mode will tell you a little about the destiny´s edge like a complementary part of your personal story while you reach to Arah, then the real dungeon mode which is the exploration mode force you to look for a group of a least 4 players cause all have this mechanics where you need to put 4 players into a slate, or put some items on a specific spot while the rest distracts the mobs which spawn infinitly so one or two players move the objets to the exact points while the others distracts the mobs, ridiculus mechanics like that also this system hasn´t been updated in years so is an abandoned system and is a shame cause the exploration mode is the mode that actually give´s you access to the merchants so you can buy ingame exotic dungeon gear just for the sake of having their skins also I think some are for an achievement related to legendaries weapons if I´m not mistaken, so the game basically blocks you from doing dungeons if you don´t have a party to play with, this also happen in some fractals and with some achievements cause Arena.Net doesn´t care too much for solo players, well the game is called Guild Wars 2 What do you expect?
If anyone on this post says I´m wrong then show to me how you solo level 30 story mode dungeon with your character on level 30 not level 80 reduced to 30, prove me wrong my friends (. .)/
Veteran guide for Dungeons:

Skip them.

The reason you can't find a group is because nobody likes them.

Granted, I've checked out of MMORPGs for about a year now, but going back to old content or old games can be fun to. Like a trip down memory lane.

My recommendation is, if you're a newer player, find either players who are also new and haven't done the dungeon content (I've encountered players who haven't even unlocked them and don't know where they are) or helpful players that are willing to help you out...or both. The dungeons are a bit longer than fractals but there are players that don't mind dipping into old content...lol the oldest content are some of those world events and people still spam the heck out of those.

Trying to solo the dungeons is certainly possible, but it can quickly become monotonous and boring smacking around the same mobs for upward to an hour or having to backtrack to areas because you die.

tl;dr: if you just want to finish them for completion, then do whatever you want in order to get it done...I'm not a completionist...but if you just want to experience them for fun, trying to learn to solo them might not be the most enjoyable experience.

It's a shame because dungeons are my favorite part of these types of games; this game would probably be my favorite MMO if dungeons were a bigger part of it. The whole time I've been playing I've basically just been waiting to be able to do a dungeon. Running around filling the map and farming materials and all that other stuff is boring to me, I want to test my build in dungeons and fight formidable enemies and bosses solo, not just this other crap.

Veteran guide to dungeons:

Do dungeons only during Dungeon Rush or whenever you need legendary gifts, some of the worst content in gw2 along with dragon response missions, cold war and gyala.

Just do fractals instead. They are dungeons, they just aren't called dungeons.
You can access fractals from lions arch.

Why would you spend 5 hours trying to solo a dungeons ? Just find some people who can join you or find a groupe yourself ? No need to tell a new player to invest gold into useless gear just to do old content.

Yeah I know I really tho that dungeons will be like any other rpg game when you can solo all dungeons by yourself, even in others MMO you can solo dungeons but here it´s hard to even solo the story mode dungeons which gives you little reward and to do the actual dungeon (Exploration mode) you need another players that know the dungeon mechanics or all get wipe out forever on an instance, another guy recomended you fractals, more of the same bs, some you can solo them and other requires groups of 3 or 4 player to get into the last boss room, bad designed game modes or well designed if you are targeting group content, even so you need to add to your build agony resistance if you intent to play on the 26 to the 100 level on fractals without that agony resistance you will die without even being touched by a mob
