Exactly right. Pull up a YouTube video that shows you every location you need to go to. You don't have to do it in sequence and just pace yourself, it doesn't take too long, but it's a boring quest line.
If you're feeling extra lazy, there's an addon called BlishHUD, one of the features it can do is that it marks stuff on your map so it's easier/faster to find
its an mmorpg not need for speed or gran turismo, unless truly impatient take your time and enjoy the game
I partly agree, I don't think people should feel guilty about unlocking Skyscale quickly because having a flying mount makes other content more accessible and fun.
That being said, it should take time to complete all Skyscale masteries.
I think Guild Wars 2 tries to strike a balance between accessibility and time sinks.
However, there's nothing enjoyable about either method of unlocking Skyscale, so the O.P. might as well fast track it. Unlocking Skyscale, and especially Griffin, are extremely boring grinds that showcase the most boring elements of the mmo genre. Fortunately, in GW2, such grinds are far less than other mmos.
The real problem is that Skyscale is rarely the optimal mount to use in any given situation. Since it is sort of useful in most situations, people get glued to it.
Getting it quickly means they haven't spent much time learning about the game.
You'll notice it now when players roll up and drop a fire patch away from the enemies due to the spacing of the Skyscale engage skill. Bonus points if the enemy has a breakbar.
Yeah, they'll get around easier, but it's only more fun because they are oblivious to their options.
yeah i totally agree, i mean to each their own but the OG skyscale quest wasn't that terrible tbh, it was like your average old school mmo quest (Everquest 2, WoW, Lineage 2 etc).
