Stat Padding Is Real In Guildwars 2, worst mmo ever
Man, I was in WvW and somebody finally admitted to cheating players padding their stats. What's stat padding? Years ago an actual stat padder linked me a Necro Mark ability that has a low base damage normally, because Necro marks really do very little damage, just check for yourself if you play GW2. However, when I looked at the cheater's Necro Mark, his based damage was around 14 thousand, give or take. That was my first time seeing stat padding although I wasn't familiar with the term until much later.

Even to this day... 2024... Players are running around WvW with unbelievable damage, healing, toughness, etc you name it. This is all thanks to stat padding.

I always figured those players who get ganged by a whole 50 man zerg but are able to heal all the way to full health while still taking damage from the whole zerg, must have been using some kind of cheat to do it because that's too much damage to shake off.

Here's the thing... I also found out there's a no-cool-down cheat as well. More than once I seen and "Engi" spamming Thunder Clap multiple times without stopping and without moving their character from spot.

Now... Imagine if you have a Scourge with Blood Bank trait set, and they have padded healing stats to go along with a no-cool-down... You have a player who can continuously cast their main healing ability and constantly grow the size of their barrier to the point, they absorb all damage without ever losing barrier. Yes, I have seen some Scourges actually do this. Hell, when I first started WvW years ago, cheaters use to wrap their health bar around three times or more with barrier. Insane!

The no-cool-down isn't needed though because if you have regeneration boon going and a padded healing attribute of 7k, you're going to pretty much super heal and absorb all damage from the healing 'regen.'

These are the players who think they're skilled players in GW2, which is sad to the max. As a matter of fact, one of them has "golden assaulter" in their name... Crap! I can't remember what it was but I know it every time I see it. I know he's a cheater but I like catching him off guard just to see how far he'll go with the cheats. Last time I caught that loser off guard, he did a no-cool-down thunder-clap-like attack, where he just spammed it three times without moving from his spot or doing anything else and the damage was unreal. It was like his power attribute was set to 10k base. Takes no skill to just spam the same thing over and over and let padded stats do the rest. Loser!

What cheaters don't understand is, every player has damage mitigation. The "Devs" didn't design WvW for players to die really fast from other player damage (single player). All the high 'vit', 'toughness', traits and abilities that generate damage reduction would ensure no one dies in one to three hits.

Because cheaters are so stat padded, your damage mitigation means nothing. The cheaters stats are too high and thus their damage is too high to reduce, so non cheating players end up getting hit once and only have 10 percent health remaining, if their lucky. Sometimes it’s a one hit kill.

That's the cheating that's destroying the game the most...because it makes the classes look more unbalanced then what they really are. You can live with speed hacks and non-attacking teleports but the stat padding totally destroys WvW/PvP and the coward players who do it will never stop because chances are, it's coming from server-side, which means you're most likely dealing with "ArenaNet Babies" (privileged players). I just find it hard to believe a client-side hack can pull off stat padding. If it's a client-side thing, you would need a private server to even discover the values that need to be flipped in memory to pull it off.

As you can imagine, these cheaters hunt me hard when I'm in WvW. In fact, when my side wins, a lot of the time it's due to the fact, half of the enemy Zerg is attacking me but I'm absorbing it thanks to my heal-bot meta build, blood-bank and lots of heals coming from group. That's the non cheating way to do it and with half attacking me and failing, the rest of my Zerg is gunning them down but the cheaters are too stupid to realize that's happening but I see it all the time and laugh about it. Hell, my own Zerg don't even know that's happening and a huge part of the reason they're winning. They pull me a lot, like 15 times in one battle session, unless I have good stability uptime but sometimes the cheaters ‘insta’ end my stability.

The cheaters like to go after anyone who tells the truth about the garbage that goes on in GW2, which is the worst MMORPG ever made. I would suggest trying out Amazon's MMO, Throne and Liberty or Final Fantasy 14 online before joining Guildwars 2.

I will never buy another GW game again because I hear Guildwars 3 is in the making.

Sorry for 'typos',

Peace

Stat padding is artificially upping your score. Not cheating your gear stats.
GW2 has no cheats for things like gear stats, HP, damage etc. What they have lots of is botting, scripting and teleporting/map hacking.

You must be new because the name Gold Assaulter just means the player you faced off is ranked around 1,470 in WvW. Instead of names, you see the enemy's WvW rank.

For everyone else's sake on this post: Tl;dr OP went up against skilled players with powerful builds and lost. Then accuses them of cheating.

op this is a lot of words just to say you overestimated your own skill against other people

anyway bye please don't ever come back. like, genuinely don't

Oh look, this guy again. In case you guys don't know, this guy comes back every few months and posts a new version of the exact same rant about cheaters in WvW, but never responds after that, provides proof, or anything really of value. That and occasionally complaining about something in FF14 are literally all he does, you can check his post history.

Not just in amount of players, but also in terms of builds.

Most great pve builds will have no chance against for example, a WvW thief build. I think most GW2 players (who just copy a popular meta build) underestimate how specific you can tailor your build to solo WvW. It can be a day/night difference.

I suggest that anyone who wants to do some WvW a guild that plays WvW regurarly or a squad.
