Can't wait for the Scepter & Focus Warrior.
And I am ok with that honestly. I would rather they made more builds viable rather than forcing us to all shift to some new meta again with new elite specs.
Oh look, not having e specs is actually better guys xD
Like the other poster said, they are saving for GW3 since GW2 has been in maintenance mode for years. It's embarrassing what they have done to this game.
Financial reports fail as well, lowest revenue since 2021. Janthir Flops didn't sell at all.
Step up your cash shop game and buy more lootboxes quick!
Taking the WvW warclaw -- itself a reskinned non-flying griffon -- and going "yeah screw it, this can be the defining highlight" really speaks for itself.
Meanwhile core parts of the game like balance, major issues, bugs, server lag etc. haven't been touched in how many years now?
How long have you been playing ? A month or so ? The warclaw was released way before the griffon. Every MMO recycle assets, this one is no exception, but at least some of those were creative in the first place, like Sylvaris, for exemple. Do I really need to mention the uninspired "elves with eyebrows twice as large as their heads, alliance will have the blue ones when the horde will have the red ones" ?
As for bugs, server lag and so one, we really must not be playing the same game, for I have had none of this for the past 12 years... And however you may dislike the latest content you can't in good faith call "maintenance mode" a game that pushed 2 proper expansions in the time it takes most other game to spit a lightweight DLC or two. Or really, pushing any expansion at all. You want maintenance mode, check Champions Online.
Also, look at Elder Scrolls Online. Since Microsoft bought Zenimax, it's getting better (or "less worse", really), I'll give it that, but for years they pushed 4 expansions a year, two of which were merely dungeons you had to pay for, one single zone per other DLC, and one was called a "chapter" so it wasn't counted as a DLC you could have access with with the paid sub. Until next chapter was released and then it magically turned into a DLC. Their stories feel like fanfics written by kids who barely know the lore. And anytime you read "meaningful" in the patch notes, it translates into "tedious grind". Like "we wanted to make jewellry-making meaningfull" actualy meant "you will grind for ressources about 10 times more than for any other craft, gain 1/4th of the XP, and that will never be worth it". It was so "meaningful" that they recently patched it to be more along the line of everything else.
Say what you will about GW2, but a single expansion has more content than 2 or 3 years worth of ESO paid for content, at a fraction of the cost. And yet somehow ESO is considered a "great" MMO. Yeah, I suppose it was for a time, when it came out, then it got greedy AF. GW2 may have a greedy cash shop, but you never needed a new skin to actually play the game.
"How long have you been playing", good one.
as every spec can be played in Support, Condition Damage, Power Damage build.
Depending on the stats and especially weapons loadout.
That's WELL ENOUGH complexity for any paygrade and kinda too much for the rump crew left to this 12 year old MMO still grinding out actual content.
9 more Elite Specs just isn't in the budget, IMHO.
A new weapon is all that we can look forward to, boosting either one of the support/power/condi builds.
My bet is on Trident next year.
