I came here and was amazed at the incredible amount of lies that are being told about this game.
Grinding, dead servers, worst free to try mmo, toxic community, no gold income ...

I understand that the announcement of the expansion and the recent surge in GW2 players must have angered other MMO players, but there is a limit to the lies.

I'm not here to say how awesome this game is, feel free to try and judge for yourself.
The game is free to try (full core game is totally free), has dedicated player guides for EVERY achievement in the game.
There is no need to install any launcher, no anti-cheat system, etc.
it's just an Exe that manages the game and updates. (it's like a portable app and stores some settings files only in X: \ Users \ YourPCName \ AppData \ Roaming \ Guild Wars 2)

If this game was almost dead Anet would have been in a hurry to release it on Steam already

Yeah when i saw the forums here i had to double check the game and make sure its the same GW2. Im not even a mega fan, i didnt play until HOT (mostly due to an obnoxious community prelaunch) and really keep forgetting about the game, ive returned a few times and always love it to death but then for whatever reason i take a long break.

It might be a game that has issues holding peoples attention long term, but its not any thing ive read on the forums here. Its super populated, actually surprisingly so, all the game modes other than maybe higher end raiding are all super packed with people as is the game world and events.

Its super cheap, i think both expansions are like $30 and then the new one will be $30. I got the big daddy pack and got 4000 gems and really want to spend more but really cant find anything i need or want on the cash shop, which is good...i spent on account upgrades with bank space, a the salvage item, and some bag slots for a few character im gonna grind stuff on. Got two outfits on sale and im good to go on spending. There is no money sink in the game as far as i can tell.

I often wonder how this game would have turned out, had they gone the vertical gear progression route, as that seems to be the biggest gripe....granted i HATE sweaty pve endgame, and have no clue why i do it in all mmorpgs....so its actually nice to just not worry about that and deal with completionist tasks, events, and SPVP/WvW which really breaks up the pve nice.

Its just such a well made game, its possibly the most under rated MMORPG out right now.

Also the more i think of this the more its an undervalued thing....their servers NEVER go down, like ever, you relog to patch instead of waiting half a day for the server to go up. Never any issues in game either...its a well made game....though ive heard low end systems struggle due to Dx9 only, which is getting fixed like next month. Modern GPU wont sweat even in larger WvW.

To each their own but tab targeting and text based MMOs are a thing of the past. If I was into hentai I'd probably be playing Final Fantasy online

Giggling underage looking characters in skimpy clothing. Only thing missing is tentacles. Only worse one is BDO. Great combat system but man... Lots of jiggling parts ,🤣🤣

I totally agree,the only think I don't like is that I cant use my existing account with 7 chars and more than 5k hours and steam pushes you to create a new one...so steam release is dead on arrival imo.

It is a fun first ride, first time you level up and explore zones and do events and get the gear etc. But after that there is little to no incentive to return unless you like cosmetics or achivements.

Wow that's crazy! Why do they want to divide community!? I guess I won't be playing this on steam. I will figure out how to run my multiple GW2 accounts through steam instead.
