Can I purchase items from the Gem Store using my Steam Wallet?

Gem purchases can be made using your Steam Wallet. However, you cannot refund any Gem purchases made through Steam.

Can I purchase items from the Gem Store through the Steam Client using payment methods other than the Steam Wallet?

In-game purchases can only be made with the Steam Wallet within the Steam client. Gem and game codes obtained outside of Steam cannot be redeemed by Steam users. Item codes can be redeemed by Steam users at {LINK REMOVED}.

That's why I always try to tell new players that a Steam GW2 account is usually the worse choice since it is impossible to buy anything without using Steam money. Meaning all you can buy in regular shops for GW2 are Steam gift cards.
