The newest expansion is so unfinished it isn't even funny.

Anise went on the Sagafta strike or whatever its named. Though I agree, this expansion is underwhelming, so was SoTo. We need the big HoT, PoF, EoD expansions that we could play/replay for over a year, at least I did and I still come back for those expansion's content today, SoTo and Janthir I will not come back to, there is no replayability if you don't make a second acc like I did and have to replay everything again.

Then write her out of the story or replace the VA.

Janthir has been better than SotO... or it was in the beginning in the Lowlands, but it's been steadily getting worse and worse. I kinda feel like everything since Aurene left has been filler. I couldn't care less about the magic snobs, I really liked the kodan and their culture and story, but then we get back to MabonMabonMabonMabon and write out every likable character outside Poky.

They offer the definition of Minimal Viable Product. It's so bad that to me, as i see it, Guild Wars 2 is not a video game anymore. Guild Wars 2 is a human experiment to see how low a developer can get before the whole playerbase riots. I bet you this is the goal of the "game" in 2025, and its NCSoft that is studying the results for their upcoming gacha and p2w trash tier mmos.

As for the expansion,
it's the 2nd one of these regular yearly (pre-paid Living world stories) rolling "expansions".
This one is going much smoother than the last, IMHO.

I played gw1 from 2007 until the launch of gw2. From launch of gw2, i played it until October 2019. Uninstalled since, and zero chance of wasting my life playing an empty game with no light at the end of the tunnel. You seriously thought that i am still playing this mobile game on life support? Come on now, i am just following it until the studio closes or the project is transferred to a Korea studio under the NCSoft wing. With how piss poor the support has been, Anet is incapable of competing with ANY live service titles out there, and when this happens, the studio closes.

None of the mentioned games mmorpgs though, so it's like saying "imagine somebody eating steak in 2025, when you have so much types of bread and icecream available!" Kinda moronic argument, tbh. And when it comes to mmorpg, GW2 is still the best, when taken as a whole package. It may be lacking in certain fields a lot, but in general it's unmatched. Especially for new players who don't care about quality of new content, as for them HoT and PoF (the best 2 expacs the game has had) are still "new". They will have a blast of experience for the next couple years, before they even will touch SoTo or Jathir.
