Guild Wars 2

Content after lvl 80
Sup guys, just wanna get your advise. Played GW2 long time ago at release and desided to jump in again in steam. Got all DLCs and living seasons except the latest one. Currently im doing 1st living season and wondering how hard im gonna broke immersion from story if i jump into DLCs to farm some hero challenges to finish my skill tree in elite spec? Would you suggest to do everything in order and wait a bit or its just better to max out at least 1 elite spec and return to story after?

First of all, if you use your old account on Steam, you will need to use the "-provider Portal" launch option (w/o the quotes). Everything you buy on Steam, goes to your Steam account, thus, if you play with your old account you will have to buy everything from their store.

It's understandable that you want to maximize your elite spec as efficiently as possible. In this case, jumping into the DLCs to farm hero challenges for your skill tree won't necessarily break the immersion of the story.

Since you're currently playing through the living world season, you can always come back to it after you've completed farming hero challenges in the DLC areas. The beauty of Guild Wars 2 is that you have the freedom to explore and progress at your own pace.

If you feel like progressing your elite spec will enhance your gameplay experience and make your character stronger, then go ahead and focus on that before returning to the story content. Maxing out at least one elite spec can make your gameplay smoother and more enjoyable.

So, feel free to mix and match your gameplay between the living world season and the DLC content based on what you enjoy the most at the moment. As long as you eventually circle back to the story content to fully immerse yourself in the narrative, you'll still get to experience everything the game has to offer. Enjoy your adventures in Tyria!

Thanks mate! Yeah, ive created new account and bought everything except the last one in steam. Is it correct that most of HoT challenges made for a group and its better to farm hero points in PoF or End of dragons?

There are all sort of challenges, some hero points can only be found doing certain story steps. So, if you find a Hero Point that is on the map, but it does not show up, feel free to use the Wiki or ask in chat.

Do World versus World everyday !

You can gain astral points with awards of the Vault each day and each week.
For 175 points you have 5 gold piece. It is an easy and always fun 35po each week.

In this cool pvp (you are not force to attack others players to progress) you have more than 1000 levels to gain. These levels give you points to better use rams, catapults, burning oil cauldrons ...

You could just ask someone in LA to let you TP to friend on them, so you can skip the story instances and just get into the expansion maps for the hero points.

People sometimes do "HP runs" where they bring noobs from HP to HP to quickly farm for the e-specs. That'd be your best bet.

But really, there's no real reason to do the story in order. It's hardly a coherent storyline as it is, and until 2 years ago, the first LW wasn't even available unless you played it during its original release in 2013.
Most people don't even buy LW2, and LW3 often gets skipped too because it doesn't really have any major rewards.

You can even hop over to the heart of thorn and grab your glider just by pretty much starting that expansion. Without getting into the story. And Path of fire you can go grab most your mounts easy without even getting into the story. Its just nice quality of life stuff. Just grabbing the Springer mount to jump high saves alot of unnecessary aggravation.
