Guild Wars 2

Guild Wars 2

The Misadventures of the Guild Wars 2 "Community" in Elder Scrolls Online.
So, this is how our tale begins..

A few years ago, the almighty Guild Wars 2—let's call it a community for the purpose of this—decided for some reason to go play Elder Scrolls Online in droves, no less.

Now, you think nothing would have happened, but you're wrong.

Out of nowhere the ESO community would start yelling that there are these terrible players that can't beat a single normal mode instance or even fail in three armies fighting in the open-world player vs. player zone of Cyrodiil at the same time as the Guild Wars 2 community decided to play ESO in droves.

Weird, isn't it?

Now, these are not my accounts of the situation because I found out much later, after everything had settled down.

People proving their damage is extremely low and they can't tank at all (a pretty questionable thing in ESO, but fine), but the biggest one is the healer situation.

So, people would load into an instance or Cyrodiil and start playing, and while playing, realize they aren't being healed by the healer. So, they would say, "Heal, you idiot" (as you see, I'm a very polite person.) and receive the response, "Use your heal skill, moron." (Like I said, very polite.).

Now, ESO allows you to have two bars, each with 5 slots that you can put any skill you want in, with 1 for each bar for the ultimates, but a dedicated heal skill slot it does not have, and the m.e.t.a. at that time was to be dedicated to your role. So, having a healer was a good thing. Yes, ESO allows you to have one damage-dealing bar and another a healing bar, but that was seen as an open-world player vs. environment build. And on top of that, these players refused to heal.

Now, you will think that was one or maybe a few incidents, but you will be wrong.

Multiple incidents occurred in a large span of time to the point the ESO community was in an uproar against these players.

Apparently it didn't take them long to find out, as the very wise Guild Wars 2 community would reveal themselves as these players.

And in what polite way, you ask?

By showing their achievements and kills with images and videos of them defeating the hardest content in Guild Wars 2.

And such was the conclusion by the ESO community that while they clearly can beat the hardest content in Guild Wars 2, they very clearly cannot beat the easiest content in ESO.

So, today the Guild Wars 2 community will try to beat Guild Wars Original with what they claim no AI companions. Now, the AI companions are mostly incompetent, but you can order them long enough for them to be useful, but the Guild Wars 2 community.. well, you know the rest of the sentence.

So, being that I'm a massive Guild Wars original enthusiast, I have to see that.

you made me chuckle on a grey tuesday morning. thanks...
ESO is so dead that me and everyone i know did uninstall and quit ESO to actually go play GW2 and other games, not the other way around. There is literally like 4 people in "big hubs", dungeon queue can take hours until gives up and logs off to play other games. People there literally "play" by logging in, doing "crafting writs" (daily crafting chores) and logout to games where it's actually fun to play the content.

If you read ESO official forums, there are players begging ESO devs to do something to dwindling player base, because console populations are already dead and PC servers cannot even get groups, yet the game still lags even with low population, and full of bugs. And worst balance team out of any mmo. So RIP ESO.

Easiest content in ESO, or all content is made for kids. There can literally afk through everything. One reason, on top of badly working game, why people left in mass to GW2 and other games, is how easy the game is, everything in open world dies to like 2 light attacks (think of 2 auto-attacks), story bosses die 1-shot etc. ESO difficulty is made for people who wear bicycle helmet indoors for protection of not hurting themselves. And yes, i did all Trifectas there with a static team, and yes we were guild that even sold "carries" (legit way for in game currency, it was approved by ESO devs) so the raids did not need even full team to do anything, could always carry several people not doing anything. That tells everything you need to know about the difficulty on "hard modes" lmao.

Cool story tho. :LaughingOwlcat:

dude , have you ever played cyrodiil ?
i did and its harder to organize a horde of randoms then cats , back then tower doors were indestructable the moment they were capped , the enemy simply holed up in them and stalled progress , bosses in eso are full of mechanics that need memorization (and dont ask about raids , i never set foot into them so i cant say anything here)

fun fact : i once hopped into eso for a few months and lost interest again , returning to gw2 in the process (granted , i also played a bit of wow , swtor and eve online but thats it)
