I wish you could just buy the sky scale.
I would pay $100 for it.

I understand not wanting to do the tedious Skyscale collection and season 4 entirely but it is so worth it!

It might be worth it but it would be more fun to pay $100 for it.

It's the Skyscale experience. It's a long and tedious quest but if you are so inclined to unlock Skyscale without doing it yourself, there ARE some dubious "skyscale unlocking services" out there where you paypal almost $100 and these guys will log into your account and do the entire skyscale quest for you over a couple of days.

I hope your account gets banned though.

I recently got my skyscale and the process to get it is so overblown. It's easy to get the 250 map currencies with the "return to..." achievements and the collection stuff is not that bad. You can also buy the skyscale food if one does not have the charged quartz crystals already and then could in theory craft it later and sell for a profit or minimal loss. That then saves 9 days. Same with the grow lamp.

Almost all of the jumping puzzles in that one step near the end can be skipped with shortcuts.

I wouldn't be against them letting people pay to skip since I really couldn't care less about if/how one gets it but I do think the complaints about unlocking it are again, overblown. I also think it feels great to finally unlock it and having it grow as you progress/raise it was kind of cool and for me at least, gave me more of a bond to it than any other mount I have.

The mount is definitely worth it as it's the best thing I have ever got in this game. It's a complete game changer when fully mastered, and the people that act like it isn't great probably just don't correctly learn how to use it because I too thought the mount was mediocre when I first tried the borrowed one in dragonfall. Just as an example of its greatness, I recently levelled up a character to 55 to use as my new bag opener and I did this by hitting waypoints and vistas around the map and the skyscale let me go into areas where I was 15-30 levels below without instantly dying from being one shot since I could just fly over all the enemies and easily hover over the waypoints or easily land at the vistas. No other mount would have let me do the stuff I was doing there. Then there is the dragonfall map which pretty much requires a skyscale to actually enjoy. You have many areas you need to wall climb, something you can't do with the griffon.

The only open world mount I don't yet have is the griffon and I do plan to get it but there is just no way it is going to be more useful than the skyscale is. Sure, it will almost surely be more fun and I guess more ideal for any super long distance of going from point A to B in wider open maps but not more useful. I'll probably use the skyscale to griffon jig in the air if I ever need to travel a long distance and want to do so quickly, not to mention when I just want to have fun flying around.

It probably isn't that hard and it might not that long. But it does not sound like much fun to me. So I do not want to do it. As you say flying is useful and that is why I would be willing to pay real money for it. If it was not useful I would just forget the quest chain ever existed and just keep killing things.

I dunno... its supposed to be like this "holy grail" when it comes to mounts and you already see bloody nearly everyone with them. I feel like if you could just gemstore purchase it, it would just make it feel even less special and they'd be even more everywhere. It's already kinda silly sometimes seeing a group of players all with their crazy flashy skyscale skins mount up and light up my whole screen whenever they move an inch.

TLDR: I want this thing. I don't want to work for this thing. I just want it. Make them sell it to me.

What do you mean TLDR? My original post is shorter than yours. I felt I was quite clear and concise.
