You play GW2 for an almost arcade MMORPG game experience that is low key and lacking progressions to fall behind.
You want your casual mmorpg to be all about gameplay or story? Story go ESO, gameplay go GW2. Both are decent but for very different reasons.
What's preventing anyone from auto attacking their way to 80? Ignoring minionmancers and rangers for obvious reasons, all classes have access to ranged weapons which makes auto attacking to 80 more than possible without having many issues. Allows you to create a super defensive build as well since you don't have much else to worry about. It'll just be boring... super boring.
GW2 doesn't encourage or require team play at any point during leveling. It's easy enough for anyone to do it solo. And then HoT happens and everyone realizes how much they actually don't know how to play the game and/or their class.
"To all the people saying I should go play FFXIV or WoW: Right now I'm playing ESO. It has the best horizontal progression system in the entire mmo industry. Everything is better in ESO compared to GW2.
1)Story is better
2)Gear system is better (the monster sets are awesome)
3)Questing system is better. The quests in ESO have deep story behind them. Not like GW2 where you have to complete stupid hearts with no backstory behind them.
4)Satisfaction is better. When I complete a veteran dungeon in ESO I feel satisfied after getting a powerful set. But in GW2 whenever I complete a fractal I feel nothing. No satisfaction... just hallow.
5)Zones are better
6)Graphics are better
7)Music is better
8)Content update release schedule is better
9)Endgame content and progression is better. In ESO after you reach level 50 a whole new progression system opens up called the Champion System where you can further increase your character power and gain over 3000 levels.
10)Character build diversity is better. In ESO you can customise your build diversity in a lot of ways but in GW2 build diversity is non existent."
1] I played ESO when it first released and it was god awful, i then returned around Morrowind, the story is ok, nothing overly exciting, id say both GW2 / ESO are about the same.
2] ESO gear becomes far more of a grind fest / or money sink when you get ot the higher levels, if you are casual, youll forever be left with crappy basic gear.
3} Quests......theres a variety in ESO that are your typical "fetch" or generic simple ones, like follow that dog, etc. I do prefer GW2 heart system thans more "Do these things in this area"
4}Did you do the tier 1-1 fractals? Expecting to get some legendary weapon as a reward? When you do a dungeon in ESO you get some goodies that are mostly scrap and useless
5}Zones.......depends which zones you are talking about? Shadowfen with its cliffs, silly water depths [that go from ankle to knee depth so you dismount all the time, Alik'r Desert because......well most dont like it lol. Buuuut Both games have good and bad zones/areas.....i like the HoT areas and didnt like many of the core tyria zones.
6} Graphics are better? Different art styles, if you play both on high settings youll see both look great, fantastic......but that can be said for mmos like WoW, STO, SWTOR, too
7}I have to disagree with you, i think both have fantastic music/ soundtracks, and are up there with the best, infact id say most other mmos afterwards realised players do appreciate decent quality music/ soundtracks
8}
i even remember one rune summoning an azura golem to help you in your fight.
I honestly dont think You have played GW2.
1: The story is fine, that is very subjective as well
2: The gear system is fine in GW2.
3: The questing system is the same as in any other MMO. What you are talking about? the quest in ESO is no different from the main story line quest in GW2. The side quest are the same boring mmo stuff in both games.
4: That is once again Subjective.
5: ONCE again Subjective. IMO gw2 has better zones compared to ESO or XIV
6: ART style is different.. ONCE AGAIN Subjective
7: see as above
8: I give you that one
9: You are aware that GW2 has the same sort of system in place. After you level to 80 you start working on Mastery points. This is how i know you haven't played GW2 and most likely a shill for ESO. Not Everything is just about pewpew power numbers tho!
10: You for real bro?
11: PVP is 100x better on guild wars 2 than eso or xiv (thought id add that one for you)
Right now I have ESO, FFXIV and WoW all installed in my PC except GW2. GW2 is permanently uninstalled from my PC.
and my point still stand too: GW2 is a better mmorpg than any of those
Fanboys aside, you gotta understand that what you're doing here is trying to force your opinion on others. Whether that's your goal or not I don't know but that's what it comes out as.
You may enjoy GW2 the least compared to other games and that's perfectly fine. Personally I have never played ESO to be able to compare the 2 directly (thinking of buying it the next time it's on discount), WoW I played a looong time ago and didn't enjoy it and FFXIV is not something I would ever be interested in due to the GCD on everything. So, for me, GW2 is miles ahead of 2 out of the 3 you mention but that's just my preference. It's not wrong or right, just what I personally enjoy.
And regarding ESO previously the game was average. But recently within these 2 years Zenimax has made so many positive changes that I'm in love with the game right now. Trust me when I say this that when you start ESO and cross CP level 160 you will forget about GW2.
