Celestial is a bit of a trap. It can be fantastic if your build can utilize all the stats. If your build can't, it ends up being rather weak.
If you don't like Berserker's, then use Marauder's.
You definitely want to work on your dodging. Reaper can take more hits than most, but it can't take them all.

An alternative is to go minion master and focus on death magic skill. Great for face tanking pretty much anything.
Marauder or Valkyries might be better options. Probably lean more towards Marauder.
I have been trying to figure out set bonus or are there none? i.e. bonus if you wear X number of items of a set?
Yeah I should work on dodge but I am old and slow :)
There are two things you are looking at with armor.
Stat Prefix (Berserker, Marauder, Valkyries) and the Runes you can slot into them. Runes are the "Set" stuff.

Generally, you can just buy 6 of one Rune off the trading post to slot into your armor.
Correction: fury actually gives 25% critical chance in PvE and 20% in WvW and PvP.
Ideally, you want to aim for 75% critical chance with food to always crit with fury buff.
Also, there is no point in giving up critical chance if you are not already overcapped, so Marauder>Valkyrie for the average power builds.
You want "Zhed's" armor if you want cheap, light armor with Berserker stats.
Exhalted gear is crafted.
Antique is from PvP track rewards.
Does not make sense that prices arte that diffferent between Exalted and Antique when they have same stats. Zhed's I can understand because many will probably just search for Berserker
Used upgrade slot is meaningless. Just add another upgrade to it.
Zhed's is a drop. You get it randomly from anywhere.
Exhalted needs to be crafted. It's not a cheap craft.
Antique is from PvP track reward chest. You can think of it as the trash part of the reward.
Each of those sets has a different skin. Endgame is "Fashion Wars".
Some gear has a "part of a collection" tag on it. If it's onerous to collect/craft, then the price will be higher than other gear.
You just want the stats, so go for the cheapest option available, which is stuff with the Zhed's prefix in the name.

LSD might be the only person who would burn imperial favor and research notes to sell antique armor on the Trading Post. The rest of the population gets them from the PvP reward track.
