Soloing Game Content - Pro Gamer Advice - Holosmith expert
So some people from the GW2 commuinity reached out to me and said, I blanked out bad words.

"Bruh how do you solo stuff in GW2 with holosmith "blank" I keep dying?"

cause you googled your build and I designed mine 😂was my reply, When i play holosmith I take sword and board but even then you'll still die cause holosmith is actually extremely weak compared to every other class hence why I play it so much it is the weakest class in the game (not by dps I mean just in general sense due to a limited lackluster choices for sustain compared to every other class)

Holosmith was designed to burst then defend burst then defend you're not supposed to continually be engaged in a fight with the class he can't take it no matter how good you are lol you will eventually die on the class in a elongated fight. That's why he's very mobile compared to other classes he can move a lot easier has way more access from engineer for cc immunity swiftness boosts etc

To play holosmith correctly you have to play the tag playstlyle which I only find fun cause I'm chillin lol it's really boring for most people bust basically you jump in do your burst then jump out wait for heat and then repeat holding aggro while moving you'll almost never be able to solo game content like raids etc on Holosmith.

The only engineer class I was able to actually solo a raid on was mechanist and it took me about 15 months to get the build right to be able to eat damage while dealing damage. Most people google their build just so you know 99.9% of builds on google ofr any game are designed as part of a team not solo play unless the person on the guide specifically mentioned it is for map or solo which they will do so probably since their most likely really experienced as well.

If you're looking to be able to do bigger content as solo holosmith like bosses on the map and dungeons and stuff you can't run berserker lol just so you know at the very least it has to be marauder with severe investment in defensive utility you'll need access to a large amount of defence break so you'll need to run sword and board at the very least.

Bosses aren't hard their only hard because people panic lol if you actually pay attention to a bosses move patterns etc it's actually really to dodge them and use your skills correctly to dodge pretty much 99% of their damage especially champions I've beaten champions as early as level 21 solo before on engineer granted it was the easiest champion the wurm but still.

The difference as to why I am hugely successful running solo is because my builds are made by me I build my build based on my play-style what I hope and like to see and how I like to more and play nobody else in the world there's no guide on earth of a person who plays exactly like I do and that's also true for you btw there's nobody like you either

So build your build based on what you like and are comfortable with and you'll have the most success don't worry about what other people are doing lol just do what's most comfortable for you you'll have the most success.

For example I play Daredevil with just staff lol nothing else even in PVP if your whole team died to just a staff DD it was probably me lol do what's comfortable .

There's a saying we used to say in pro gaming when I was doing Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments and that saying was, a card is only useful if you can play it otherwise it's useless and the same is with GW2 damage is kinda useless if you get cc'd and die you can have all the damage in the world but if you get cc'd and die then your damage is pointless.

So if you're soloing change some of your dmg into defensiveness cause GW2 these enemies are not forgiving they will hunt you down and not stop hitting you until you drop 😅

Just some helpful advice to help people solo better and stuff if there's any mistakes my keyboard is broken sorry

Lol aye lot of people just copy some build off the internet and don't bother to learn how their class actually works.

It's far more fun to just make your own, especially if you ignore min maxing for pure DPS.
And you often get to avoid problems like your build getting screwed over by balance changes because "the meta" ended up getting axed due to overuse.

At least these people are free exp in most of the game's open world group content since they're downed for 50% of the fight usually XD

I also like the fact inbetween any fight you can adjust your build for experimentation. That's one feature GW2 does right.

But if you go for defensive skills and marauder, does that also mean that fighting a tough champion takes what feels like an hour?

I think there is difference between what ppl mean with having a solo build.

The main question is still why should one pick holo over other engi specs. Like you said, holo has strong burst and weak sustain. Both traits are horrible in open world, since sustained dps and strong sustain are much more important in open world content. Just like weaver, it's a fun class but a rather weak one.
