During offhour like the time i write this msg, good luck finding enough players in NA server to do both lanes for the spire phase.

And remember, soto is a very recent xpac. The population issue gets even worse when you wanna do older meta like jungle wurm.

Half of the issue comes from the fact that these meta have overlapping hour, so only the most popular (easy and quick) meta are done.

I have to agree with Tiberius here, and it gets even worse when the events are not "meta".

Last night I was working on the griffon collection and there is a 2 stage group event in Elon Riverlands where you do a basket collection while being constantly blasted to the ground by Jacarandas then fight a champion Djinn.

I did the gathering myself and was attempting to solo the boss but it was impossible since it hides behind a break bar and regenerates. I never want to do that horrible basket collection again so I kept at it and put out a call for help on LFG. Fortunately there was no timer and after about 15 minutes someone showed up and helped me put it down.

I suppose that does mean there were enough people to do the event.

I have to agree with Tiberius here, and it gets even worse when the events are not "meta".

Ye i remember doing the griffon mount and no one showed up when i listed the boss in LFG. Then i tried to do it solo and then i had 10+ people showing up like it was a regular event and i got it done. Even helped some other people aswell some other day.

I have been doing the SotO map metas and convergences every night around midnight to 2am EST for the past few months while I work on my Legendary armor, and the metas always get done every time.

Actually I have a problem getting into the commander groups before they fill if I arrive more than a few minutes late.

I also know most if not all the World Bosses get done late at night as well, since I used to do the world boss train as well.

So yeah, there is pretty much always people doing (and completing) most content unless your on at a stupidly early hour or something.

honestly, gw2 uses a mega server thing so i have never been on an empty map. does not mater where i went there are people running around or talking in map chat.

You will not have trouble finding other players in the game. And if there's some specific event or activity you are doing and nobody is around -> asking in chat seems to pull players to help you almost every time. While the numbers are probably vague or inaccurate, there's enough people to complete every kind of activity within the game if you are willing to ask. Having or making friends makes the experience way better!

Huh. That was actually a very positive read. For daily players GW2 blows EVE, ESO and Black Desert out the water and is just about half of the players compared to FF14. I expected far less. Seems it's still very healthy.

Yeah the top list is broken because it parses total number of accounts, not daily players, but if you click on the individual games you can easily see the actual player numbers. GW2 is at about 100k daily,

That site just guesstimates player numbers by activity on Reddit and other tangential stuff like that, which just isn't a reliable indicator.

We can be reasonably certain that the total number of players from the Epic launch trailer "Our Story Is Yours" as 20+ MILLION ALLIES is up-to-date. For years, over 16 million was the only published number.
The daily active numbers are a closely guarded secret though. I would also assume that GW2's player numbers are more volatile than with other MMOs, since the game allows you to take breaks and come back when new stuff drops without falling behind a lot.

Not surprising since the game has been dead since mid 2021 when they started recycling staff then released an abymal expansion.

Remember how 2023 was the "year of GW2" do you? Gyala Delves, Living Season 1 recycle (not even complete). SoTo was a flop.

Janthir is even a faster flop though, they set their own record with how bad it is. Do not dare going to metacritic for information, your little hearts can't take it.

It's embarrassing to quote Steam numbers as if they meant anything. It'd be understandable for someone who doesn't know the game to do so, but for anyone else to keep bringing up these numbers is beyond moronic.

But keep whining. Meanwhile we're just having fun, unphased by how some sad losers feels about that.
