1. Corrupted data cache. (you can locate and delete it from your temp folder. For a quick run, hit Win+R to open the Run window, type %temp% and hit enter to open it. The file will be named gw2cache followed up by lots of random letters and numbers.)
2. out dated add-ons (like ARCdps) that need to be updated.
Instead, try putting the -repair command into the launch options.
There are two ways to do this.
Then, "launch the game".
Both methods will do essentially the same.
A window saying "data archive is being repaired" (or similar, for me it showed up in German) should appear.
If you chose option 1, don't forget to take out the -repair command afterwards.
Be advised that the repair process will probably take quite a while, and the window might display "not responding" while it's active.
But if you do use any add-ons like ArcDPS, my money is on those.
You always wanna periodically delete that file. Corrupted data caches can cause lag, disconnects, frame rate drops, etc. Just remember to relaunch the game to create a new cache file.
This is one potential cause of Gw2 crashes recently.
