ArenaNet is exploiting it's customers
I opened around 250,000 to 275,000 Trick-or-Treat Bags during the Halloween event and noticed some oddities. When you right-click preview a loot container, it shows potential loot divided into common, uncommon, rare, and super rare categories. The problem? This preview feels misleading.

In the super rare category, I received 21 Polysaturating Reverberating Infusions but only 2 Ember Infusions and 2 Phospholuminescent Infusions. Despite being listed with equal weight, the drop rates clearly aren't the same. This discrepancy is not only deceptive but may also have legal implications, as the in-game gold used to buy these loot containers can be linked to real-world money, making it a potential gambling issue?

Has anyone else experienced this when opening large amounts of loot boxes/containers?

yes and in another 250k bag everything could go even where you get 19 embers and no poly infusions. Thats how RNG and statistics work.

Like basic coin flip. Even tho, you have 50% chance, you can get one side 10 times in a row. Does it mean 50% chance is false, no.

Wait, they're listed as equal weight? I never saw this information anywhere ingame. I always thought that the rough rarity categories would only indicate weight ranges, like common is maybe 100-10%, uncommon 10-1% and so on.

Did you never notice that the amount of candy corn you get is not the same as the amount of +50 luck and that's also different from the amount of +100 luck you get, even though all 3 are listed in the common category? I always thought that's it's rather obvious that they do not have equal weight.

Btw, if you're interested in the actual weighting, on the wiki they usually try to do some research regarding this:

250k was a large enough sample size.

Exactly, nowhere does it say they have equal drop chance, those are just brackets of chance to give a general idea. I'd say that in order to "deceive" you, they'd have to tell you something that's wrong, and they don't. Both items are indeed rare, especially in comparison to the common and uncommon items, so the information they give you is correct.

It's always 50% of getting the drop you want and 50% chance of not getting it.
