the current currency exchange rate is a bit broken
With the rates at 250 gold for 886 gems and 2000 gems for 831 gold.
so if you do the math you can make a profit in gold and gems

the equation for the math is
gold from gems trade divided by the gold for buying gems
then the cost of gems to buy gold divided by how many gems you get when buying them with gold and if this number is small the your first one you will make a profit

...I have no idea what you're trying to say.

You will never make any profits by converting gold to gems to gold, you will always lose nearly 20% with every conversion.

Jeez, 41g per 100 gems? Used to average 30g per 100. Shows gem supply has been down for a long time, i.e., less players buying gems.

nah, it's just the usual sign of inflation. There was a brief time where it was somewhat stable but in general gold always becomes worth less over time.

Its 15% same as trading post, so when you convert x to y you have to consider fees and price changes. Exactly the same you do when you flipping on TP, or trying to sell an item for profit such a rare skin

How about we actually do the math then, since it seems you are unable to.

250 gold for 886 gems is 0.28 gold per gem.

2000 gems for 831 gold is 2.41 gems per gold.

If you had 1000 gold and converted it to gems (X2.41), you would have 2410 gems. If you converted that back to gold (X0.28), you would have 675 gold. Doesn't look like "a profit in gold and gems" to me,

In order to actually profit in this scenario, the gold per gem would have to be at least 0.42, or the gems per gold would have to be at least 3.57.
