The MMO genre is slowly joining RTS in it’s grave, so why would they even do that.
They would need to add built in voice comms though. Can't type on console and typing on a phone while trying to play is virtually impossible.
I played some MMORPG's on xbox
And yeah ... Compared to MMO's on PC, It feels so ... dead
Not many people talk in chat, since not many has a keyboard plugged into their console
New World had almost 1 million people on release day. The customer base is there, the problem is every mmo nowadays is either old like pyramids or an asian mobile grinder junk. But if someone was to make an actually decent, modern mmo, he WOULD find customers.
it's a stupid rumor
These days if your game isn't multiplatform at release you're just handicaping yoursel, and this is especially true for an Mmorpg.
Easy victory for the big three.
WoW, FFXIV and Runescape
(not ESO)
Guild Wars 3 tells a quite different story than the narrative you try to portray
They wouldn't even make a sequel if Guild Wars 2 was the failure you say it is
That's sort of how sequels work
And for all we know this will nor release before 2030 and might not even be an MMORPG (replacement to GW2)
So
Guild Wars 2 is a dead game, because of setam numbers right?
No context matters
But help me out with this one then
If that's the case, then why does Oldschool Runescape have less than 1k playernumbers on steam?
They actually track the playernumbers in runescape
So this shows how flawed your argument is
I don't play it
It should show playernumbers when you login
But found example from in 2023 where they had 180.000 concurrent players
SO thats 180 times more than the current steam numbers
