Activities for Solo player
Hi i was wondering how much there is to do for "solo" players. What i mean by solo is that im fine with doing events and stuff with other players in the open world but are there any challenging end-game things to do as a solo player?

I'm not interested in fractals since you need a party and im not interested in raids either since you need a party and i don't care about LFG'ing.

is there any solo activities that are challenging and worth to sink my time into?

thank you

It's loaded with stuff to do by yourself (that often includes playing around other people, but
mostly no requirement to be grouped up) by doing achievements/collections. These will guide you toward certain content.
Challenging?
Not dark souls level challenging
It takes lots of effort to complete many of the long term goals
It has challenge, but I'm not sure how hard you want it to be. Like I said, it's not dark souls.
You can however make challening goals yourself, like soloing dungeons etc

The challenging content is mostly in form of endgame group content

Pretty much the expansion "Heart of Thorns". Many of the Hero Points are "group event" battles that are soloable with a good build and player. Even just wandering around can be deadly.

Jumping Puzzles if that's your thing.

Mini-Dungeons.

Most dungeons from the core game are soloable, iirc.

Low level fractals have been solo'd.

WvW have people who roam around solo, looking for fights.

ah yeah i meant to say challenging goals for myself like soloing dungeons if those were possible.

im assuming obviously some classes can't solo dungeons(?) or are they all viable to do so but harder than others?

i am a solo player who only did fractals a few times (after being forced by my friends) and I've never touched raids.

Most times I just run around and do world bosses.

There are four low-level bosses and six mid-tier bosses. Some of them has pre-meta events but you don't have to worry because its easy to do and usually its completed by others before you even move. These bosses timer goes on a loop so you'll never run out of world bosses to conquer. I recommend searching for a taxi squad for you to get in a more populated instance, you don't have to stay in squad once the boss spawns.

You can find Taxi squads in the LFG tab under Central Tyria then World Bosses. To change instance, right click on the Commander's logo in squad tab and click join.

Then there's the hardcore level bosses that requires group effort. They spawn once every few hours. You'll need to join in a squad and follow the Commander's call outs for these. There's pre-meta events you have to complete with the squad. These bosses requires perfect coordination.

Squads usually open 10-20 minutes before pre-meta events starts because their map instance tends to get populated quick. So if you want to do these bosses, I recommend entering the map 30 minutes before the boss spawn on the timer and keep refreshing your LFG tab to make sure you'll be in the same instance. If you can't find a squad, then you'll have to wait for their next spawn.

Tequatl and Triple trouble are still popular. There are active guilds dedicated to run that meta so I'm sure you won't have trouble at all. Those hardcore bosses also has achievements that you can complete. Completing both of these meta will grant you 2 gold each per day, not to mention the rare drops and chance of an ascended box. I've gotten a few ascended boxes just by doing them.

I personally love the Triple trouble because there are three separate giant wurms that three squads have to kill at the exact time. Each wurm has their own achievements too. Usually the commander will tell you where to stand or what to do to get those achievements.

Here's a few wiki links to get you started:

Other than world bosses, I would redo some Jumping puzzles. I've done them all at this point but I like a fit of rage once in a while :)) (i am terrible at jumping puzzles)

And I saw your question on soloing dungeons. I've seen a few of my friends do it with their Guardian, Necro and Revenant. I'm sure with the right build, you can solo dungeons. But mind you, a few dungeons requires team effort for their puzzles. I never do dungeons on impulse unless my friends drag me there. So I never cared much.

With that being said, that's all I can recommend for base game stuff that doesn't require looking for a party. I do hope you'll enjoy it and remember have fun :D

Most everything can be done solo. Elites and such tend to get reasons showing up to fight it but no group required

guild wars is the most hardcore casual game you will come across

Hardest solo activity in the game is doing jumping puzzles blind without rewinder and outside help. This game really doesn’t have ‘challenging’ content in the sense of FFXIV or WoW and that is the exact reason it’s still alive because it fills a niche. (For the record: I don’t consider soloing group stuff with a cheese spec and tank gear to be challenging and in GW2 there’s zero incentive to solo group content)

Multiplayer content is a mess anyway because there’s no way anyone knows what’s really going on in the sea of circles and particle effects. Basically everything where there’s more than a dozen or so players present is a mess.

It doesn’t even matter because either way all will come down to farming the same handful of mats over and over again for the legendary fashion wars.
