You're limited to the unlocks your elite spec provides.
Quite frankly that's well enough.
Pretty sure the whole thing will be a complete clownshow of nerfs and buffs, renerfing the rebuffs etc.
Quite frankly, ♥♥♥♥ Anet for locking potential builds behind another ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ expansion. They're not getting another cent out of me.
Anet could have easily just given us the new weapons and kept the elite spec weapons behind their undoubtedly tedious new mastery ranks, but no, they had to pull an EA and make you pay for it all. If you can't see the problem with that, you're part of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ problem.
I wouldn't compare the greed of EA to Anet. Anet has no sub fee. They must earn income some way to keep their servers up and projects alive. Asking money for their expansions is pretty acceptable to support the game and the developers working on said game.
these expansions aren't 2 hour dlc's EA trying to sell you. They flooded with content.
I agree with this, there is both a free base game + no subscription fee. How many competitors have both of those advantages? Anet needs something to make up for it and secure the income for the future. I hope they hire more developers with the income to improve the game further.
Thats what the paid expansion PACKS pay for.. its not suppost to be a pay to win game.. locking basic skills behind an expansion wall is just that.. At least in reference to how this game has gone all these years. New zones.. new quests.. new cosmetics.. PAY UP.. an keep the lights on.. Trying to make winners an losers based on your wallet.. Thats for other
So I imagined the specializations locked behind HoT, PoF, and EoD ? Did I also imagine the skill list in GW1 chapters ?
I'm pretty sure I imagined the 2 additional classes in diablo 2 expansion 24 years ago, or was it the new spells and the new mage class in baldur's gate 2 expansion 24 years ago also.
Adding new gameplay content in expansions has always been a thing. It's not pay to win.
Pay to win has an expontial conotation to it. Like if you pay 2000€ you will beat someone that pays 1000€ everytime. And if someone comes and 3000€ the next day he will OS those two.
I'm pretty sure a dual pistol guardian with a trash build won't kill any necro tank anytime soon.
