Guild Wars 2

Guild Wars 2

I know I'm not the only one who has problems with seeing the cursor
because a web search shows threads on different forums complaining about it. In fact I complained about it on anet.com but the socially defective bottom feeding forum dwellers derailed the thread with trash responses. Don't tell me to buy an addon when it's an easy problem for Arenanet to fix just by giving players a crosshair rather than a cursor, and let players change the color and size of it.

Well you can't have a crosshair, but they added an option to give it either a small or large glow, either permanently or when you press a button, over two years ago. It's right at the top of the options menu, "Cursor Constrast". I use the "low" option myself, to help with the occasional times I have this issue.

well that's helpful, despite the resentful tone. the first is rare on Steam forums, the second not so much. have my grudging thanks.

update: wow, that cursor is really terrible. the developers put zero thought into that. they should be forced to play their own game. or high developers who enjoy making games.

Well, without using some kind of outside software, or maybe Manufacturer software from your Mouse, the only option I could find that you could try is going into Mouse Settings in Windows, and under the pointer options turn on locate mouse cursor. With that, if you tap CTRL it will flash a circle around the cursor (this works on the in game cursor too).

I'm not sure how a crosshair would be any better or worse that the current pointer. I mean, I guess it was a bit larger than the regular cursor, but then again the in game glow setting kinda does that already. Or if the maybe gave us an option to change the color of the cursor.

Either way, sorry kinda went on a tangent, try the mouse setting and see if that might work, or check your mouses extra configuration software for any customization settings. :)

You should have seen it the first 6 months after it came out, about 2 years ago.
They put 0 effort into that mouse cursor, and it was completely misaligned, so that the tip of the cursor was the transparent top-left of the image, rather than, y'know, the tip of the cursor.

The visual diarrhoea makes keeping track of your cursor impossible. It's one of many, many, many, many-many, many MANY issues that have been there for 11 years and have either been ignored or half-arzedly "addressed" like this.

Get yolomouse, set it to pink circle for maximum visibility in most zones.
