GW2 doesn't start anymore in Proton

I use Linux Mint, I played normally, but now despite the "playing" status the launcher never shows up

I use PROTON-GE-7.54 since I had some hanging up on closing the game* if I use versions above (might been fixed with newer version but too lazy to dedicate time testing proton). If you dislike the idea of using community made proton, try a version similar to it

i use proton experimental on manjaro and it runs fine.

In a very basic fashion, it is valve forked version of wine that is tailored for gaming specifically. It work on any kind of linux distributions.

Not all. Some games with anti cheat or drms won't work on proton unless they have features for such things. Or are released on linux as well. So it's a hit or miss. best site to know which games work or not is protondb
