I wasn't bothering with the holiday stuff, since I just wanted to play through the main story for most of it. It turned out there's an extractor that you can only get during wintersday, and it takes three days of feeding grawnk to get it. That's so dumb if so.

As long as you start feeding him before Wintersday ends, he will still appear to feed. Not dumb, you've had like 20 days to do it.

O,h I did do that. Well i wasn't aware of his existence, and the timer until I started looking at wintersday stuff over the last few days. I got this game on sale, and my priority was doing the main story, and not getting sidetracked with anything else. Holiday events in mmos iirc don't usually have must have items attached to them.

In what possible way is this a "must have item"? You get a tree in your home instance that will give you just shy of 3 silver a day for going through the rigmarole of collecting from it each day.

You get 1 gold (33x that) just for doing your daily, and then you can buy even more gold with the AA from that.

Why is the story your priority? Unless you're having fun doing it, you can come back and do the story as and when you feel like it.

Certain zones, and also mounts are only accessible when you've completed parts of the story. Like the Roller beetle before you can start unlocking it you have to do. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Long_Live_the_Lich

In order to go to Verdant Brink you have to do the prologue mission first. I only ever do stories in the order its meant to be experienced in without skipping ahead. If everything was just unlocked without story requirements I'd mix it up more.

Good! I hope you have the LW episodes too ^^ . I played without them, started enjoying the story, then got confused af when I got to new xpacs! Only MMO story I've ever cared about.

Take your time with the story. You can do any festivals without messing up the story.

That thing's useless. It's easier to bin Empyreal Fragments than it is to hoard them, transfer the star to the right character, withdraw them from the bank, spam click it till it hits its daily 150-250 limit, open the gifts, then sell the junk it spawned.
You're looking at 12 copper per fragment, primarily from the fact it sometimes drops an unID green.

You can perhaps still get the Holiday Display Case.

You need to feed grawnk 3 times.
You can feed him now, there will be a reload of the timer in 2-3 hours, and then you can feed him again with a another food (the chef will also be somewjere else) .
And 2-3 hours after tomorrow, perhaps you will be able to feed him a last time for the last days of wintersday.

Then you will have all the months you need to fill the case by doing the jumping puzlle needed. There are no time limit to do this.
