1. Clear the GW2 cache. If on windows, hit win+r at the same time, and type %temp% and you can locate the gw2 cache there. Delete it, then run gw2 to have a new cache folder created. Corrupted data caches can cause disconnections.
2. Run a repair. Locate your Gw2.exe file. Right click and create a new shortcut. Rename that shortcut as GW2 Repair (to ensure you don't confuse it with anything else), right click on that newly created shortcut, select Properties, and in the Target line, add -repair at the end. (Example, "C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\gw2.exe" -repair) That creates a repair client. Run it, and it'll repair your game files. Just be aware that clicking on the shortcut will always run the repair mode. So only run it when you need to.
The reason it disconnects is because the game is wildly inefficient with both its routing path to AWS servers and the way it loads everything on demand. Lots of routers just crap out, and the problem's been around for years.
