These are just 1 piece. You can't change parts individually (chest, leggings etc)
Then there's armor skins. You find this in warddrobe section in the hero panel
These you can change individually AND you can do what you are asking for in the OP.
If you go into hero panel you can see that you have 2 equipment slots, 2 by default and more can be purchased in gemstore
You can equip 2 pieces of armor sets here and apply different armor skins to both
I cant equip the same items in 2 presets, and customize each with different looks/colors.
I would have to own every item twice.
Changing the looks or colors for preset 1,also changed them for preset 2 automatically.
Cant be that difficult to just give us multiple,,look builds''in the wardrobe,no idea why we dont have them already, given how popular fashion seems to be in this game
Yeah you will have to own 2 armor sets
It's possible with just 1 item, but it needs to be of legendary quality
It's one of the perks from legendary
You also don't have to spend transmutation charges on legendary items
Someday.
If i ever get legendary stuff.
Assuming at least some of your use cases are non-combat, you could just buy a super cheap set of armor for a few copper and transmute that as your second item set, no need to "own every item twice" for that purpose.
Over time you probably will get enough transmutation charges so you don't worry to much about using them, but still having to adjust everything again and again can be annoying, especially if you change often. I ended up using outfits and normal armor for the different occasions, so I can simply stick with one cosmetic setup and work on making that look decent for the occasion it is meant for.
