Movement in this game is horrible
by far one of the most annoying things about this game is the fact that I have to clicking and move my mouse to move my camera or my character. Is there a setting to change this? and If not I strongly recommend there being one because this is the 21st century lol

GW2 is getting that new fangdangle Dx11. Ohhhh. Right, Dx11 was released Oct 2009, GW2 released in 2012. Hmmmm Maybe don't go holding your breath for an update to movement.

Action Camera Mode might work for you.

This. Other benefit of action camera is that you run in every direction, not just forward. Con is that it is harder to ground target and it is harder to attack while running in other direction (look behind keybind can help here).

First time playing PC rpgs and used to Sony's 3rd person ones? Use action camera or learn to hold right mouse button.

Typical. Come and complain on the forums before going through the game options.
Would you us to play the game for you too?

please look through the game settings before commenting nonsense like this.

I don't think the century has anything to do with this. Newer MMO's even still do this with the right mouse button to move the camera.. Most people prefer it that way, but as others said you can change it to something else like action camera.

Having to hold a mouse button to move the camera, or, more specifically, the right mouse button to steer your character is nothing new and is something that won't go away because "this is the 21st century"
The action camera others are suggesting to you is something most other MMOs don't have.

This is an extremely suspect detail. Do you really think holding both mouse buttons is the only way to move your character?

Ive tried action camera, although its an improvement, it feels a little off. Feels like the game is trying to stick a bandage on the problem rather than to have a permanent fix. maybe ill get used to it tho (still better than the default movement lol)

what? when did I mention clicking both mouse buttons is how I move my character? Its just left click. I am aware of action camera, its not exactly what im looking for

Most other mmos are either not 3rd person or theyre not modern mmos. PLayed plenty of games that use "action camera" type of movement (not really because action camera is not that great) have clearly proven that it is a much better option. saying "its not gonna go away" as if its some revolutionary feature when in reality the only thing its good for is allowing me to click on the shop in the on the corner of my screen without pressing 'Esc' lol. Stop pretending like its not an outdated way to make games.

It's not outdated though? I'm genuinely confused as to why mouse camera movement is somehow suddenly such a strange thing to you. If it ain't broke don't fix it and so on.
Edit; Also to clarify, I think these control schemes still have their place in gaming. If it's not for you then it's not for you. That's all there really is to it. GW2 is a decade old game, they're not going to change their camera and movement control because someone is complaining on Steam about how outdated they think it is. Maybe this game is not your cup of tea.

Then play a modern game? Whatever "modern" means by your definition.
I don't know... You seem rather new to the game. Why is your first reaction trying to change the game instead of changing your attitude towards it? Have you looked through your movement keybinds and camera settings yet? Experiment with them, maybe you'll manage to find something that suits your personal needs. And if you're unsuccessful, than the game might just not be good for you. But stop pretending that it's the game's fault.
