But, need improvements even so
Currently you have to do the 4 dailies given to you
So that's a downgrade from having 12 options to choose from
They are adding an extra option soon, but still a downgrade in this aspect
So that's my critique
There's also been some bugged missions in there
But they are improving it
Other than this it's an improvement in every area imo
MUCH better rewards, but you will have to play the game
We even get gemstore quality skins
You can't just login and logout and receive rewards anymore (or well you can, but will give you like 1/3 of what you got before)
Some won't like this
I think it's a much better system
Another thing I like is that you don't have to play everyday to get rewards.
You can just do the weeklies and special objectives
That will give you plenty to earn rewards
If you play every daily you can choose much more, how it should be
And it's quite nice that Astral Acclaim is a currency, and I can choose what I spend it on, instead of potentially useless items cluttering my inventory.
My only criticism is that, apparently, they are the same for everyone. So good luck trying to kill 5 veterans when 10 other people are trying to do the same thing at the same time in the same zone! Reportedly, jumping puzzles are the worst in that regard. Simply making the dailies random in each category would solve much of this problem - I hope this happens soon!
That being said maybe I am biased cause I have been 80 for a loooong time in the game so...this just enhances what I got going on, dunno if that oppresses lowbies or newbies further though....but hey...!!!you can buy a lvl 80 boost am I right ANET or what!!!
who defend this latest greedy monetization sceme.
But it's not going to go away anymore,
so deal with it. Yey.
Why is it greedy?
You don't pay real money for anything in the vault
Legendary Weapon Starter Kit
Enchanted Owl Griffon Skin,
Heavy Crafting Bag
Sanctified Boots, Glove & Shoulder Skin
Sanctified Weapon Skin Selection Box
You have to own the expansion to get, which costs real money.
Heavy Crafting Bag can be obtained in other ways. Most of the items you listed are skins, not necessary for gameplay. The expansion contains other content, it's a one-off payment, you can wait for a sale, and the "special" rewards track, exclusive to SotO owners, gives you extra acclaim points, meaning you can get them faster, for that griffon skin or starter kit. You have a rather unusual definition of "greedy"...
Plus, you don't need to pay anything extra. Just have the expansion and you have full access. If they wanted to be greedy, they would have made it behind another pay wall like other games have done.
Exclusive skins like that and showcasing them literally EVERY frikken day is the very definition of FOMO sales tactics.
Previously they weren't THAT brazen in trying to make money,
but the current daily system is literally built around it now.
And that part will only balloon further with coming expansions.
Current season rewards will be moved to Legacy Rewards at the end of the season and can still be purchased with Acclaim Tokens even after the season has ended. So, you will never miss out.
Since it came out I have gotten significantly more gold from the Wizard's Vault than from everything else I do combined.
We will see if they double, tripple or even quadruple it.
At least they can't go higher than 1300.
