It's really not. As you get better at the game, the need to escape vanishes.
Springer is optimal for quick vertical movement and starting a fight with Breakbar/Knockdown. When heading to any major fight that has an open breakbar, swap to Springer to engage instead of just hitting them with the minor damage from Skyscales Fire Patch.
Maybe in certain niche cases
Long term players have an attitude that everything is easy, and I'm sure it is for them.
"79 weeks of repetitive time gated activity for a Whatchamacallit of Doom?
Pah, I did that back in 2014."
If anything, I think the biggest benefit is just being able to mount when the game still thinks you're in combat, even though you're done.
Or when you don't want to fight, but keep getting shot at
As an example when I'm doing world completion. It feels bad having to run and keep pressing the mount button 17 times before you finally mount :D
Even if survival is not an issue it is a huge convenience and it feels unbalanced to give that only to the Skyscale.
The Springer might actually be viable again if you could use it to pound out CC as described above by re-mounting in combat.
Change my view on what?
Scroll up and go through the thread again. You guys are going hardcore on a Mastery that is only usable in the Expansion areas AND on a 3 minute cooldown. You are also considering things that are already in the game, but in a different form. For instance, your Idea of using the Combat Mount to use Springer for Breakbar is just a terrible version of the United Legions Waystation.
Only thing I've spoken on of what you mention is the "mount in combat" feature.
Expanion just dropped. I haven't unlocked it yet.
Certainly it should not be exclusive to the mount that is already better all around than any of the others.
Whatever the United Legions Waystation is seems like straying a bit off topic for this thread unless it relates in some way to mounts.
They would probably need to add a cooldown to the mount combat skills though after using "mount in combat"
But then again, being able to mount in combat is already kind of crazy
But i guess it only works in new zones then
Edit: oh 3 minute cooldown, guess it wouldn't be an issue then
It will likely be very requested
Giving tools like that and then not having them avaiable elsewhere doesn't feel good
They also added mounts to core a bit after PoF launch
There is nothing in the wikki entry to suggest that is true.
Sombody flapped up and breathed fireballs last night into a fight in the Crystal Desert, so that ability is not restricted to the expansion.
As I said, I haven't unlocked it myself
I was going by what the other poster mentioned
