It's been like that for years. Even the "pve endgame" focused guilds were not responding or joining to fractal or dungeon invites in guild chats and instead chatting about what they were having for dinner. I don't blame them though, game is in maintenance mode so no one was excited to repeat a non existent endgame, abandoned instanced content or old world bosses for abysmal loot
My guild is pretty active I would say, we have several regular events throughout the week, about 30-60 people online depending on the time of day, and people usually looking to do something.
The only real issue, is finding people who are willing to be the one to decide to want to do something and set it up :D
Have you tried being the one to decide that you wanna do something, and see if anyone wants to join?
That goes for other mmos as well and yet when you compare GW2 steam numbers to those, GW2 has 75% smaller playerbase. Numbers don't lie. "No one plays on Steam" is proven to be nothing but an excuse and yet that's the only argument everyone clings to.
What your implying is that some significant portion of the community would drop their account they may have had for nearly a decade, to repurchase expansions and play on steam?
Not at all. What I'm implying is how unpopular the game is to new players. They failed to entice players to play even for free. That speaks volumes.
Not to mention the several desperate tricks old players used on steam to falsely bolster player numbers and review and still came short. Even after finding a way to use anet account on steam client and still couldn't surpass 8k peak. That shows the current 4,280 players consists even less new players
4800ish players on rn given that its a fraction of the community and GW is not an afk sim, that isnt bad.
Also, what do you mean by 'tricks' to 'bolster player numbers'?
Running the game client from steam is done by running the launcher as a 'non-steam game' in library or just from the exe. It wont show you playing the game on steam... though again, it just seems like you are trying to suggest the Anet account users have moved to steam to justify your previous statement. If so, thats un-sourced and extremely conspiratorial. If not, I dont know why you threw that in there.
It's tiny compared to the big three. Also, a lot of those 4800 is using the trick to count as a steam player so the real concurrent number is much lower. Embarrassing.
Sounds like you're not even aware of the trick and didn't do your research before deeming it "unsourcred and extremely conspirational" hehe. Come back when you at least know a little bit about what is being talked about.. I won't link it here because we don't need more desperate players to falsely bolster steam numbers now do we?
