Stop replying "dead game" like threads
Title, stop replying the troll threads asking or saying the game is dead, so they get buried faster, and legit questions get the attention. Aka "don't feed the trolls".

Just a tip, follow if you wish.

I know of quite a few people who have left Warcraft (some after over a decade of play), and came to Guild Wars after growing increasingly tired of Blizzard's (no, Activision's) nonsense. The game is thriving. I see more players in a social space in this game than I have in Stormwind or any other social space in Warcraft in quite awhile. This game is doing well. If I were to read "dead game", I would automatically assume it's trolls, and give it no second glance.

Is stormwind an endgame hub too?
I began playing the trial of WoW.

Stormwind is a Human racial city. I stopped playing WoW shortly after Cataclysm came out, but back then the true endgame city was Dalaran, from Wrath of the Lich King. Dalaran is in the continent of Northrend.

Edit: Actually, thinking about it now, Stormwind on the Alliance side and Ogrimmar on the Horde side used to be quite busy back in the day.

One of the reasons why cities in WoW aren't very busy could be because many people are doing dungeons and/or raids - the fastest way to get the best gear and other rewards. This, ironically, makes the game feel less populated, due to the instanced nature of the content :)

or can you name a core class, that can to tons of damage, while standing still, and ignoring many of the game mechanics?

1. expansions isn't a "bait and switch". This has been explained to you multiple times in details.

2. It IS horizontal progression. No more grinding levels or higher level gear once you hit lvl80. This has been explained to you in details before.

3. Core classes can and still hold relevance post 80. You can find many builds that use core specs that can hold their own and can actually dominate in WvW and PvP. As for "while standing still and ignoring many of the game mechanics" bit, not one class can pull that off. You must be actively engaging each fight with the proper rotation, great positioning, or die trying to learn.

Side note: websites like MetaBattle have a Core/Free to Play tab to offer up powerful core builds for free to play users.

First of all, who are you to say who i am?

Second, if your life is too miserable to stalk random peoples on steam so maybe you should look on the mirror today and ask yourself what ♥♥♥♥ are you doing with your life.

.... they will ♥♥♥♥ the weapon system as they aren't destroying the professions enough with the alac/quickness spam.

.... if you want to act like a clown so its up to you, but Anet is killing the game and ruining their image, and no one can negate.

They are trying everything to make the game stop sinking, selling hard earned stuffs for money, their business model is changing, their respect with players is changing, their direction got worst in every way and they are just ignoring the community, follow the forum my dude and you will see, anyone with more IQ than a sea cucumber can notice that.

Who are you to say who he is? and how do you know all those things about him?? nice (multiple) ad hominem argument, are you upset or something? you say "no one can negate" and such generalization is another kind of fallacy, speak for yourself please.

The moment someone uses these kind of aggressive fallacies that's when you know you can't take that person seriously, give credibility etc it's pointless also you know such person is desperate because cuz no solid base to argue or is unable to do it in a proper way so they resort to personal attacks or other kind of fallacies like the straw man or the ad hominem, sometimes its due to the need of attention therefore the argument is controversial on purpose, so sad

Too bad for all those who can't enjoy this game, maybe they should go elsewhere and be happy? there are frequent queues for WvW and no matter where i go i see people playing the game even in the most obscure or oldest places, this is something that haters cant stand so they need to well... keep looking for attention and yelling "game is dead" everywhere.

you guys actually get so incensed with these threads that you start making personal attacks and getting forum bans?
Hardly. You find someone obviously spewing hate for the sake of hate, and you remind other people that they aren't here to be reasoned with and replying just helps them bump their hate post with even more hate (or reminding not to quote trolls but to report), and that's a no-warning ban. Toxicity is completely allowed. Lies and deceit are completely allowed. Baiting is completely allowed. But pointing that out or talking about it where the target is obvious? Ban and done.

We don't have our own real mods who care about the game or forum being usable, just Valve's default mods, who only work through their job queue following the obvious letter of the rules and are blind to the harm they do with poor modding or the actual content they look at. Someone replied to an old thread about a still active and relevant game tool, expressing appreciation for it, and a mod locked that useful thread because their script says bumping an old thread "could confuse people", meanwhile, no amount of active misinformation and toxic trolling can get a thread locked, because there's no script for having to actually know what's going on.

At least, that's giving the mods the benefit of the doubt on being overworked and accidentally destructive among dedicated toxicity. The way things are enforced feels a little like we've got some anti-GW mod running around enjoying this forum being kept bad for users and the game, but we can't do anything about that except write this place off.

To block a user, do the following:

- Click on their screen name and select "view profile".
- On their profile page, in the top right, there will be a line of options, starting with "add friend". At the end of this line, there will be three dots and a down arrow. Click on the arrow.
- In the drop down menu, select "block all communication". Confirm when the prompt appears.
- To cancel the block, repeat the steps above. In the drop down menu, select "unblock".

You will still receive Steam notifications as before, but now their posts will simply be shown as "blocked user". You wouldn't see what they wrote unless you click on the post. However, if a user you have Not blocked quotes that post in their reply, you will still see it, as a quote.

Really had hoped the dry spell of mmorpgs between like 2010 and today would have seen this strange mmorpg crowd of people who HAVE to trash any game they dont play, and use these bad faith political style argument tactics to sorta propagandize peoples opinions on a game....but they are still here.

It was for sure one of the downsides to bringing the game to steam, steam has one of the worst mmorpg playerbases ive seen and thats saying a lot for the genere.

Im just glad they stick to posting the game is dead here, where no one cares, rather than tainting the good community this game has in game.

Anyway, its free, anyone can hop in and see how surprisingly active the game is, I just logged in 8am on a thursday and tons of people running around town. Doesnt need to have 12mil active players to be alive.

Yeah, while GW2 doesn't have as many players as FFXIV and WoW, it feels more alive because of megaservers and the game design (old content being relevant)

Allthough, I did try FFXIV trial again lately (played the full game before for almost 1k hours) it did feel more populated early on after the new free trial.
I'm playing WoW right now
I'm leveling on the new leveling zones and I barely meet any people.

1. Just a reminder, since there is a new one trying to be "original"...

From my experience early zones tend to feel more alive due to new players just trying out the game. To be fair, this also applies to guild wars 2. Population in "mid game / leveling" maps show how many of these new players actually stick with it ( + dungeons of that level bracket, if you can skip open world leveling by doing them), and that looks pretty empty in both games from my experience, while Guild Wars 2 still provides reasons to visit "mid game/leveling maps".

1: hot doesnt have a single normal quest. pof has 4 or 5.
2:are you serious? you have to level up glider and mounts. and that is done with xps and level bars. and if i dont have to grind, why dont i have the gear i need?
3: dont care about what they can do in pvp, because i never touch it.

Another game that I feel did that part well is New World, although I have not touched it for a very long time now. The open world PvP stuff kept all territories quite busy.

Still, I'm kinda looking forward to an MMO that does away with the leveled zones entirely. Some already exist, probably, but nothing that has managed to capture my attention at the present.

they actually tried a version without levels , and it performed so poorly in testing, that they scrapped it. levels are one of the core features of the entire genre. if you dont like it,
then you are not a proper mmo player.

1. You referring to hearts? Yes, HoT maps do not have them, but lws3 maps do (requires HoT to access those maps). PoF does have multiple hearts per PoF map (including lws4 maps). Instead, each HoT map has a meta event associated to it. It does make map completions easier to earn the necessary Gifts required for gens 2 legendaries.

2. Not exactly "leveling up" as Mastery numbers are your Mastery Rank. You do not get more powerful, your tools become more useful. Plus are rather easy to raise and gather XP with all of the metas the expansion maps offer. I have the Mastery Rank cap and I didn't grind for it. It just happened along the way. And I am still sitting with extra Mastery Points that have no use.

As for gear, not sure what you mean by that. Gear is easy to replace and easy to aquire. Hell, I'm sitting with a bunch of armor chests that are stat selectable that I save for a rainy day (mostly thanks to WvW. What can I say? I like WvW).

3. That much is obvious.
