What do you think about the new skyscale aquisition?

To be honest, I´m on the final part of the grind. I had to buy every living world episode with gold and grinded for a fair amount of time to find out I could have waited a little longer and kept my gold... But it does look better for new players to get a easier time with the mount grind tho, but it still feels bad for my timing lol.

It's not so bad anymore though

Compared to how it was earlier

1. They've nerfed timegates

2. You can get season mats while working on the achievement legendary amulet
(this step was the worst of it all)

3. TACO is updated to have all the stuff easily shown you need to collect
(overlay software that will show routes to world completion/collections etc)

Really would love ways to keep the other mounts relevant, a litle worried that everyone will just be flying around even more. Maybe grant some of the land mounts an assisted jump?

Raising and caring for the young skyscale is closely tied to the lore behind the mount. Without spoilers, I think that lore won't be present on the new maps. Then again, they could just cut everything prior to that point and start with a hatchling. I hope that's not what they meant by streamlining, though...

They could just reduce the currency requirements. For those that are just rushing through the story instead of actually playing the maps for months like the rest of us did, getting those currencies feels a lot longer when you are grinding it instead of obtaining it organically like we all did.

Getting the S4 currency for skyscale is not difficult anymore.
While working on seasons of the dragons (legendary amulet) you just have to get to tier 3 on each season 4 map and you will get the 250 currency

You just have to start the collection and you can go straight to the maps you need and complete the objectives to qualify for tier 3 on each map
Then one can stop , allthough highly reccommend to continue.
This is the best collection in the game, you get a legendary, 32 slot bag, EoD precursor, mats for skyscale or vision and lots of other rewards.
Other than time put in, completely free (as far as I remember)
Very good rewards

It's probably too late, but they could have just made it so the skyscale cheap method only works on the new maps, And to unlock everywhere else, you have to do the full method.

Why? That would defeat the purpose of this alternate method existing in the first place, essentially becoming an extended mount trial. Not to mention it would feel absolutely awful for new players.

If the goal is to get more people into the skies and also sell skyscale skins, this would be counterintuitive.

And how does PoF change if you have skyscale already? Do you just skip all the other mounts because you don't need any of them anymore for the land based puzzles?

I don't want it implemented, but I guess you could argue that a skyscale coud be "pay for convinience" like other things they sell

That logic makes no sense to me. PoF (and Season 4, which is where the mount is actually from) offers significantly more than just the Skyscale. So, I would rephrase that question: Why would anyone buy PoF (and Season 4) solely to obtain the Skyscale?

Well I would hope most players would buy Path of Fire for more than the mounts as well. However I know some players that did just buy PoF for the mounts. So some players do. Why did they do it? Well it has been quite some time ago but I remember one of them just bought that expansion for the raptor because he thought it was cool. I am 100% sure he would have bought season 4 just to ride a dragon if he had known about it.

For me the skyscale would be about convenience. The expansion will not have much to offer me other than that I am sure. I do not enjoy the story of this game. I do not enjoy jumping puzzles. But being able to fly would save me some of my precious time.
