Maybe learn how to finish and cleave downs, 100% skill issue
Hearts are one of the best questing reinventions and GW2 has been praised for years on it. ill take the square any day
They take away the storytelling and direction that quests provide and then crank up to 11 the repetition. Eugh.
im not living in an illusion, im sorry people on steam cling to the old world and think
picking up 30 pig meat thats rng on a pig builds story.
If people actually played gw2, they would know the story is actually told through story missions, hearts are an open world system that exists with multiple routes of completion- the whole reason they get praised- not the whole run 40 yards, pick up rock hand into npc.
ive seen way to many appreciate this fresh take, amongst other gw2 mechanics.
Because the generic "traditional" quests in MMORPGs have such great storytelling. "This cave is important to the alliance, be a hero and clear the kobolds out of it!"
"Quest status: 0/10 Kobolds slain"
"Adventurers! I need me five pairs of boar balls for me juju potion, mon'! Bring em'!
"Quest status 0/10 boar balls gathered"
Inb4 the obligatory "everyone I disagree with is a white knight".
It's fine to criticize, but how about you give a better solution? And to be frank, storytelling has never been the strong point of MMORPGs, you have (mostly) singleplayer RPGs for that. NWN, Baldur's Gate, Divinity etc. Now that doesn't mean the story or average quests have to have crappy writing, but you might be expecting a tad too much.
