Can I link my old gw2 account with my steam account?
I haven't played this game for years and it was released on steam a while ago. Can I link my old gw2 with my steam account?

You can, but to do that you have to force the game to bring up the GW2 launcher.
Right-click on the game and select properties. At the general tab you want to look for a space where you can type in launch options. Enter this line: -provider Portal
After that you are met with the GW2 launcher where you can log in with your old account.

Just remember not to buy any gems and stuff through Steam then after you launch old client through Steam, because purchases through Steam won't work!
But taking ingame pictures will work in Steam even when old client linked!

The answer is that no, there is no official way to link your accounts, anet does not support that. Anet accounts and steam accounts are two different accounts.

The other answer is as others have told you, that you can add a command to launch options to log onto your non-steam account through steam, but that is still an anet account and cannot make purchases through steam.

You can not link your Steam and your ANet accounts.

You can, however, use the Steam version of GW2 to play the game. To do this, go to Steam-GW2 launcher options and add: -provider:Portal

Important thing to remember: do not buy stuff from Steam for Guild Wars 2. If you do, those will be credited to your Steam account, not your ANet account. Your accounts are not linked. ArenaNet is currently not offering any way to link accounts.
